I was looking to add a bandsaw to my shop and read the reviews on this site about the condition the saw arrived in dents, poor craftsmanship etc, I almost went another direction. I spoke about it with the dealer who told me he has not had these issues with Jet. My saw was delivered and I picked it up at the dealer. The instructions were not good but it was easily assembled. Looks great, very solid machine.

I upgraded from a jet saw I have had for 25 plus years. The improvements are out of this world. I am mad I didn’t get it sooner. As soon as I put it together and adjusted it it cut like a dream. Good work Jet.

The only two complaints I have is having to frequently readjust all the bearing guides when changing blades. Second, changing blades is a pain. Theres just not alot of room to get the blade out and in. All in all its a good saw. If I could reccomend anything to Jet, it would be to have the same size allen screws. I think there’s about 4 or 5 different head sizes….just more to keep up with. I would reccomend the saw though

I bought this bandsaw on November 27, 2020 through a popular online woodworking store. Although I was concerned about what I read in some of the reviews, I also saw that Jet was responsive to many of the owner complaints and I saw that they were addressing issues. It took 39 days to receive the saw, which seems excessive since the saw was not back-ordered (granted that includes Christmas and New Year holidays). I got the saw up on its stand and on a mobile base, and went to raise and lower the blade guard/guide assembly. It lowered just fine, but towards the upper part of the stroke I encountered resistance. Opening the upper door, I saw that the paint was peeling off of the top of the red blade guard as it made contact with the (off white) housing (photo 1), and it was clear that the housing was not in the same plane as the guard (side to side). Photo 2 shows the misalignment; it appears as if the bottom of the housing on the left side of the photo is ‘twisted’ left about 1/4″ (it could be the upper part that is ‘twisted’ right, I’m not sure). Using a level confirmed that the left surface of the housing is not in the same plane as the guard. Looking at the guard assembly, it appeared that there should be a way to adjust it so that it would reach the top of stroke without scraping the (twisted) housing, but this is not described in the manual. I found out how to adjust it through a phone call, but I was not able to adjust the guard enough; even when adjusted to the right (at the top of the guard) to the point where the guard was rubbing against the rack assembly (inside the housing to the right of the guard), the guard still rubs the housing near the top of its stroke. I wish the machine had been perfect, in which case I could have left it a higher rating, but this is my experience so far. If Jet has any solutions to this problem, I would like to hear about them. The guard does go to the top of its stroke, but it is rubbing the housing during the top 2″ or so. I am not sure yet if this will affect the usability of the saw. The blades I have put on seem to track OK and the upper guides seem to follow the blade fairly closely when they are raised and lowered, so perhaps I will just have to live with some scraped off paint and some resistance when raising the guard/guide assembly. At this point I am not sure whether or not to recommend this saw to someone else.

As I started assembling it I got a good grasp of how well built this is. And when I turned it on and was able to do some re-sawing of walnut blocks, it handled the walnut great! This is a good saw and well built.

Saw was easy to assemble. I had watched several YouTube videos on setting up band saws, and they were valuable in making sure the table and fence were set up perpendicular and parallel to the blade, as well as in setting the guides and tension of the blade.

Jet lives up to its great reputation. Well designed with just about every convenience = everyone wants a “bigger than I have” table – extra outlet, tension guide, alignment guide, tension release bar, great 2 position fence, dual dust ports, 13 ” resaw, safety switch. Wow. but be warned the assembly needs a strong overhead rack and winch to lift the at least 200# housing on to the 18″ high pedestal.

no blade is a hassle–set up took awhile but good instructions
