This is seriously heavy duty! I’m so used to getting sloppy plastic parts on tools, that this one surprised me. I’ve used it once. It’s a table top, and I’m a bit short to be comfortable with the height, but I’ll build a step and everything will be great! Thank you.

Great drill press! With a lot of features. Assembles in about 15 min. Only thing I wish Jet would change is that the digital RPM readout stays on when the machine is off. Have to unplug it to get it to shut off.

The Jet drill press was everything I expected it to be. I haven’t had much chance to use it yet. But it set up well and the laser guide beams were aligned perfectly.

Bought about 2 months ago. Easy to assemble. Packaging was good; no damage. Noticed a few finishing defects but not a bid deal. Highest speed on DRO was 2910, again not a big deal since I don’t know the accuracy of the DRO. Biggest concern is the vibration at high speeds. Seems to run smooth at lower speeds and as speed is increased I noticed more vibration as I approached 2000 rpm. By the time hit full speed (2910) there is a very noticeable vibration being transferred to the handle. Haven’t had much opportunity to see what’s causing the vibration. Also, table adjustment isn’t as smooth as I had expected. Overall not a bad DP for the money but the vibration at higher speeds is concerning.

I need to get holes drilled straight in mild steel up to 1/2″ thick. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to give up floor space and this solved the problem. Powerful, solid piece of machinery. I’m very happy with it so far.

Good but not great assembly instructions, tell you to assemble this on a floor. I wouldn’t do that. I assembled it on the bench where it was going to be installed, much easier. The RPM LEDs stay lit as long as it is plugged in, which is silly. The machine appears to be solid.

After reading and researching I finally pulled the trigger in this drill press and I’m glad I did. It was easy to assemble and although moderately heavy easy enough to attach head to base. Laser is true out the box. I don’t like that display stays illuminated even if drill head is off

Sorry for the delay, I just can’t wait to tell you how satisfied I am with my jet drill press. It’s so much better and faster to set the speed and I just can’t get over how accurate this drill press is compared to the others we have in the shop. I would dare say it’s the best piece of equipment we have in the shop today. Speed is money, a minute saved is a penny earned. It even came in much earlier then expected. Easy to assemble. My first drill press, so I cannot compare to another. Used it a few times after I assembled, seems to be a good tool, only time will tell. Unlike other reviews, the digital readout turns off when the tool is turned off (and still plugged in).

Arrived two days before expected delivery. Very sturdy and well built. Drills very straight vertical holes without wobble. Well packed and easy to set up. Only problem was table was per-mounted to post 45 degrees off, however, a call to Jet easily and quickly solved the problem. Excellent customer by Jet.

I purchased 3 drill presses in the last two years. The make is not important. Wen they arrived, found to be damaged and/or the motor seized up. Replaced it with a Jet 12in Benchtop Drill Press. I’m happy with it. Does what it’s supposed to do. Much better that the ones I got way back Wen.

Purchased this drill press to drill cast iron parts for our product. It works perfectly for our application. The laser was adjusted perfectly out of the box for our use. This is a good buy for the money and we were able to tailor our fixtures to the table for accurate drilling. Have had this in use for a month now and have no complaints. I wanted to buy and old heavy duty press but ran out of time to look for one – No regrets we will be picking up a 15″ one this spring! Nice prod

I love this drill press but I just wanted to comment about a couple of things potential buyers might not be aware of. First, it is 1/2 HP not 1/3 HP. By way of comparison let me just say that I had originally purchased another brand, remember when? I was drilling into maple and walnut with a brand new 2″ forstner bit and the motor started smoking requiring me to use my fire extinguisher. That one was returned and I purchased the Jet. They are NOT the same. Don’t waste your money remembering when, purchase the Jet. Also, the slots on the drill press table do not go through as they have with other drill presses I have used. These slots are large t-slots so if you want to attach accessories to the table, like a drill press vise, you might have to improvise a t-bolt. I did, it wasn’t hard, but something to be aware of. Having said all of that I highly recommend this drill press. I only wish I would have purchased it years ago.
