The lathe was easy to assemble, you do need two people to line parts up as they are heavy, keeps fingers from being pinched.Have turned a few pieces and the lathe works great. Adjusting the speed is easy you just have to remember to have the unit running. The unit is quiet and there is no vibration even when turning a log from the fire wood pile. The log was about 16″ long and 6″ in dia. with a place where there was a branch, the log was out of round.Lathe works great and I am happy.

This Lathe is well packaged. Instructions are well laid out. Assembly requires two people total weight is 400 pounds. The “table” of the lathe is well machined and oiled. Everything works as it should … first appearance is great purchase!

This lathe is perfect for what I’m doing. Its big and heavy. My issues are: 1) There is a gap on back cover that covers the Reeves drive. If you know about these drives they tend to gum up with shavings after awhile. 2) The variable speed knob sucks and wish it was the handle like others.

I have struggled with a less expensive lathe that is difficult to align, change speeds, tighten tools rests and tailstocks and often underpowered. I was pleasantly suppressed when I received the Jet lathe how solid, well built, heavy and large it was. Assembly was easy needing only help lifting the assemble base upright. No missing or broken parts. Motor runs smoothly and no vibration’s,
