Introducing the newly redesigned Jet JWDS-1632 Drum Sander from Jet. The innovative tool-less parallelism system keeps adjustments simple. The worktable is easily positioned by a turn of the parallelism dial. The variable-speed rate permits you to choose the optimal feed rate for a full range of projects, while the Jet Sandsmart technology feature continuously monitors the load on the drum motor to prevent an overload situation. The mirrored design of the dust hood optimizes dust collection preventing chips and dust from getting between your work-piece and the finish. The JWDS-1632 Drum Sander delivers everything you need for an effortless finish.
- Sandsmart control continuously monitors the load on the drum motor and automatically regulates the speed of the conveyor motor to maintain the highest feed rate without overload
- Conveyor bed parallelism is easily adjusted by turning the dial on the outside of the bed – no tools required
- Parallelism adjust dial features a stop to quickly return the conveyor bed to a flat position
- Dust hood includes an integrated channel that mirrors the shape of the drum and directs chips and dust to the 4 in. collection port
- Precision-machined and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum is designed to dissipate heat and protect the work surface from heat-damage

The sander was really simple to setup. I didn’t have to adjust anything on the sander and it was up and running in about 20 minutes. It’s been great so far. I used it for finish sanding on 15 cutting boards, a serving tray, and a few other projects this Christmas.

Excellent product, easy to assemble and works as advertised. Be sure to get a variety of paper for it as this will greatly decrease your finish time. Changing grit is easy to do if you follow the instructions.

My new favorite shop tool, a must for every woodworker. It’s very easy to change the sandpaper roll, very user friendly all around. I only wish the extension plates were included, because you have to be ready to grab your board on the other side so it doesn’t fall. Still, a fantastic piece of equipment

Have been looking to find a decent, low-priced drum sander and this one fits the bill. I had a 650 cfm extractor but the dust produced here required a larger capacity so I moved up to an 110 cfm cyclone dust extractor. Great combo! The variety of easily-fitted sanding grits make this a great go-to tool for making doors and frames. One or two passes and it is done! I got the infeed/outfeed trays as an extra and they are well worth it for those larger pieces. Do take the trouble to align everything – it will save a lot of heartache!

I would give this beast 5-stars, but the base stand holes didn’t line up and made it a nightmare to mount it. I redrilled the holes and made it work. The machine is excellent!

Drum sander is very nice and does the job I purchased it for. However, DO NOT buy the pre-cut sandpaper Home Depot list as sold with this unit. It is the wrong size (to short) and cannot be used at all with this machine.
