I’ve had this saw for three years now and know a bit about it. Having said that, I wish I’d bought at least a 3HP saw and Jet has some good looking ones. That is not the saw’s fault but mine. For a contractor saw in this class, I think this is a great little saw. If you take your time on set up, which I’ve done more than once, it will cut accurately. Its not a cabinet saw, but is probably in the running for best in class. Set up properly it will cut well. If you take the advise of many reviews that I have read, they always say the blade is not good and should be replaced. I took that advise and bought several expensive blades, none of which cut as well on this saw as the supplied blade. Its not a full kerf blade, but its not as narrow as the thin kerf blades on the market. Maybe its metric. But the saw will bog down cutting with a full kerf in maple and wanders with a thin kerf in the same. The supplied blade is a goldilocks compromise and its actual produces good results. Also, thin kerf blades are below the minimum width to allow use of the riving knife so you can’t use the blade guard feature. The blade guard is excellent by the way and I use it whenever I can.If this is the market you’re in due to price I don’t think you can go wrong. The dust collection does not work well — nothing in this range does. But it will spin a small dado sets with extrodinary results. I put Incra rails and fence on mine and it works very well (don’t think this is necessary), but I fear that most of what I was trying to correct was due to not using the suppplied blade. Use that blade and this thing will do the job for you. Great little saw and at a fair price.
