For family Facetime calls, propping the iPad has been a problem. This mount, together with either a Joby Gorillapod or tripod, eliminates fumbling. The only obstacle is our habits, keeping it in easy reach so there’s less scrambling to set up before sitting back to talk.

Very reliable piece of equipment.

This is the best tablet-holder I’ve bought so far. It’s secure, there are lots of adjustments — which work smoothly — and the build quality is good. It doesn’t feel cheap to me. Others have complained that it doesn’t hold the tablet securely. The trick to this is to squeeze the tablet a bit before you turn the setscrew. The rubber grips are soft enough that they will compress a bit and you’ll get a tight fit. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

we had to jerry rig the thing for it to work for a very important corporate event.

This clamp is epic. I love everything JOBY makes. If I was going to criticize it in the most minor way, if you tilt the iPod head, it loosens the angle tensioning screw. Otherwise, this thing is Baller.

The slide is balky and it is difficult to tighten up, resulting the iPad falling out of the holder sometimes, which, depending on the height, could kill your iPad. Should be spring-loaded.

Selected this for my iPad Air but even when tightened to the max it doesn’t really have the grip. Just holds device in place enough to keep it in portrait mode for my videos.

Works great on a Magic Arm with an old Ipad Air.
