This gadget is handy and dandy. I never realized how many uses I’d have for it! This gizmo lends a lot of freedom to the guy setting fence posts who used to just hold steady while while fidgeting with the level from side to side. Now he can strap this doo-dad on and help key the post, back fill, or even spell his buddy who’s doing all the tamping. I haven’t tried it on a shed corner yet – or used the tack holes, but those applications are of obvious value. The third vial makes this superior to others, in that it helps position fence rails and panels. It’s so convenient that it’s brought new order to my garden and landscape. I now apply it to bird feeder posts and shepherd’s crook / cross arm-style plant hangers in the garden. The magnets are a nice feature but galvanizing, rust, dirt and vinyl coatings – combined with the limited contact area of most round and polygonal posts – renders them of questionable value. I did, however discover that they hold the 3-way level neatly onto the corner of my tool cabinet at eye height where I remember to take it with me. It’s a real helping hand, constructed ruggedly and wear-resistant.

Simply put; the item works and its cheap. It has magnets, nail holes and a long adjustable elastic cord for wrapping around objects. KAPRO makes a better model that is foldable and can be used for inside corners and other angles, but it is difficult to locate for sale.

This is an ideal product for all of your leveling needs. I was totally amazed at the superior quality of construction of this great level. It can be used on wood or metal due to the various designs incorporated into thus level. The magnets on the back are quite strong, and hold the level in place as you make the necessary adjustments. If working on a wood piece, simply add a nail to secure the level temporarily. I would highly recommend this for other Home Depot shoppers. Built to last, and the attached cord will also be useful to help secure it to your project.

If you’ve ever installed fence posts and wrestled with longer levels to get them positioned & then readjusted to get the other side’s level reading, you will appreciate this 3″ plastic post level. Being plastic, it’s very light weight and easy to keep a good grip on when holding your posts before cementing. The yellow levels are easy to read and provide two measurements at once, so you don’t have the hassle of moving your level while trying to keep the post upright without moving its position. This little level is a keeper because it gives you two kinds of information while being easy to handle.

nice decent quality post/pole level that can be secured using the attached strap so that you can use your hands to level it while you lock it into place.

Too big for the posts i was putting in and the magnets don’t stay on the metal posts. I like it but it will be easier to just use a level that actually sticks to the metal posts. The bungie cord was useful but annoying to keep moving around.

This post level was very simple to use while installing 4 new fence posts. Easy to quickly strap on with one hand while holding the post. Definitely worth having one of these on hand for the job!

OUTSTANDING DESIGN; GOOD VALUE — The Kaypro 3 in. Plastic Post Level Magnetic is an excellent tool for leveling a post when setting it. Since I have never had one of these before, I now know how useful it is for little cost. It has three ways to attach to a post: four magnets if it is a steel post; three holes for temporary nails for wooden posts, and a strap (see the photo) if it is wood, aluminum or none of the above. It is easy to check the level on two sides at once. I checked the level for accuracy and it is sufficiently accurate for setting a post. It makes setting a post so much easier.

I bought this level for its small size and ability to check plumb in two directions simultaneously on my model railroad bridge piers and abutments during installation. It worked just as intended. I did have a bit of trouble learning how to use the cord to hold the level in place, hence the clamp.

Works exactly as described. Much easier than using a level.

I selected the Kapro level for its compact size and versatility; several options for securing the level. There is the elastic cord that will easily fit the girth of most common post size – much easier to use than the rubber band or string. Then there are the mounting holes – holes that are in the post level frame that allow the use of screws/nails to hold the level in place. And the last securing option is the built-in magnets which make it great for working with metal poles.pipes.I also like 3 level vials which also allows this post level to be used as a cross check and a horizontal level. It has really come in handy even around in the shop setting up shelves.

This is a handy little post level. It is made of a sturdy hard plastic and has three level bubbles. I like the elastic cord that is used to attach the level to your post. The elastic cord should work better than the Velcro straps and elastic bands that I have seen on other post levels. The level also has four magnets for attaching to a metal post, pipe or sign. The only negative is that this level does not fold. It is one solid piece at a 90 degree angle which therefore takes up more room in your tool box.

The perfect way to quickly and easily set posts straight You’ll thank yourself for buying this, even if you only have one post to install. I recently set a single 4”x4” mailbox post the “old fashioned way”, holding an I-beam level to one side, straightening the post, then switching the level to the adjacent side and repeating until the post was perfectly vertical. OK, it only took a few minutes, but the Kapro 3 in. Plastic Post Level Magnetic (Model # 341) is much faster and easier. And if you’re installing a fence you’ll save a LOT of time! It has an adjustable elastic tether that wraps around the post and catches on a notch on the other side – you can see this in the pictures on a 6” post. 8″ is probably it’s limit. It can also be temporarily attached with nails (see holes in pics) if the tether can’t reach all the way around. And it has magnets for metal. Small, light, and inexpensive – highly recommended!

I’ve used levels and several other methods to try and get posts straight but this one is by far the best solution I have used. It’s small, easy to store and it works great. If you are working with wooden posts there are several ways to mount the tool to the post. It comes with an elastic strap which wraps around the post, which I prefer, or there is a hole that you can use to attach it with a screw. If you are using metal posts, it has magnets on the back which hold it securely to the post. It not only works to align vertical posts but ti also works to level horizontal posts. Great little all in one tool.

I am working on installing fence posts currently in my back yard and also building a chicken coop and I can tell you from personal experience its a pain to do it with a regular level. This will allow me to attach the unit to the posts and easily and quickly level everything out the way I need it to be before I secure everything together. There are options to strap it to the post and or nail it to the post. You can level vertically and horizontally all at the same time! Its super simple to use and I am excited to take this home and put it to work! I do a lot of work like this so this will be a definite part of my tool box! I almost missed the most important feature. It has 4 magnets in case your installing metal vs wood.
