The Home Depot and KAPRO have a great sturdy level with this Genesis model !Very good packaging for shipping ! The rubber end caps are open that makes hanging up to protect it in storage easy! The bulbs are a neon yellow for easy reading. It also has a window on hand side with a mirror so you can see plumb bulb very easy !The bottom side is machined smooth for getting a good footprint ! It is light consideringthat it is a metal box level !

The KAPRO 48″ level is reasonably priced for the quality provided. It is well constructed, lite weight and the box design provides for a strength you would expect from a level. I would give it a 4.5 star ‘value’ rating — if I had that option — only because you could find an equally good level at the HD store for a few dollars less; and those levels, like this level, would NOT offer more features than found on the KAPRO. The 48″KAPRO box level is at the lower end of the ‘cost scale’ for KAPRO box level offerings (within their family of levels). It has one interesting feature that allows you to view the ‘plumb’ by looking into a site box located on the top edge of the level (a mirror reflects the vial image). I don’t find this very useful (unless the site box is at eye level), but some folks may like this feature. The level has shock absorbing ends ( a good thing should you drop the level) and it comes with a lifetime warranty covering the vials. The vials are very readable and the ‘level’ vial has extra lines showing 2 degrees of angle. This is a straight forward level with basic features (excluding the “true plumb view” feature). I like this level and can recommend this product with the caveat that you can find an equally good, less expensive, 48″ level at HD. That being said, you will not be disappointed in the level’s accuracy/performace.

Just in the nick of time. I am building a shed and really needed a 4′ level to keep my walls plumb and corners straight and the shed level on the foundation. This is the level to use, so much better than my shorter level. Easy to read level viewing windows and one that lets you place it vertically and see if the things are straight up. This is the level to use for all projects. Light weight very smooth to handle and very accurate. Love this level. Highly recommend – well worth the money. A quality level.

The Kapro Genesis level is very well made and has a nice smooth easy to clean finish. The vials appear to be very accurate and well secured. The rubber bumpers on each side of the level help to keep it in place and prevent marking if used flat on painted walls. The rubber end caps also help with shock absorption. The mirrored plumb site is a nice feature and is very clear and easy to use. The lifetime vial warranty is a nice touch.

These are the best levels i have found-accurate and stand up to the abuse of a jobsite-the caps come off but i just wish they made them a little easier to come off and on.

The bubbles indicate they are shock proof and are surrounded by more protection. The caps on the end are made of a flexible rubber designed to hang on a peg board or on a hook. They could act as shock absorbers if dropped on an end. The end caps are removable. There are no instructions provided that may indicate why. They aren’t easily removed. The rubber thumb releases have to be worked one at a time to be removed. The only reason seems that if the level is laying flat on the wider side the rubber edges cause it to rock slightly leading to inaccurate readings. When removed the sharp edges of the level are exposed. Although it’s an average level would still recommend.

I love using this level. My old Craftsman had become inaccurate after years of letting it get knocked around, so I knew it was finally time to replace it. I had no idea how much better this level was and how far technology had changed how these are built. There is a mirror-like prism built into one of the level gauges that allow you to see the bubble perfectly when the level is in the vertical position. Very clever feature. It appears to be very durable and it is very light weight. TOTALLY accurate!

This level does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It has various ‘bubbles’ to show you when it is level. The feature showing the level bubble from the side of the level is awesome. It is so easy to use and is simple – just a reflector – so it’s not likely to malfunction/break. The level has nice rubber ends with openings so it could be hung from a wall to be out of the way when not in use.

This level is on the level (sorry, couldn’t resist). Solid metal construction reminds me of the levels my dad and grandpa used. The vials are crystal clear and don’t seem to get scratched. Also are warrantied for life. Rubber guards on the ends. The feature that really sets it apart besides the overall quality is the view which uses a mirror to allow you to see your level in two planes (x & z axes) or z when vertical when you have the narrow part oriented against the wall. Such a great feature and time saver. Finally they just look great. My favorite levels in 24” and 48” and my go tos from now on.

This is actually a 24 inch level rather than the 48 inch listed on the web site. It is well made. I like the fact that the ends are rubber which serves as a cushion in the event you drop the tool. It has a built in side view window that makes it easier to check vertical levels on projects. The level has a good weight. The bubbles are covered with thick plastic that adds good protection to the level. Should last a long time.
