9 in. Magnetic Electrician Level with Plumb Site review: Man, I love this level! I have two other 9 inch levels and this is now my go-to level. It is made of durable aluminum and has VERY strong magnets to stick to things like refrigerators or any other metal. It has multiple vials for checking level and two of those are 45 degree and 30 degree levels. It is heavy and extremely well made. Hard to believe I could love a level but this object is just made extremely tough and high quality. It also has a ruler etched into it. I love it. There ya go!

I’m the type of person that thinks you can never have too many levels. I have them in my tool box and in my storage room. I’ve also given them as gifts. The first thing I noticed about this Kapro level is how heavy and solid it is. It will be able to take a beating inside my tool box without any concern. It can be used for both 30 and 45 degree angles. It has a plumb site and to be honest, at first I didn’t know what that meant. However what I discovered was that it has a built-in mirror that you can use to get a plumb line (see picture). The 4 magnets are very strong and you really have to give it a tug to release it from whatever metal you’ve attached it to. It has an 8 inch ruler on the side with a mark every 1/16 inch. There is a lot of function packed in this toolbox level.

The construction of this level by far exceeded my expectations. Constructed on a anodized aluminum frame with an 8″ ruler which is easily seen and read. There are four level vials with a 30 degree, 45 degree, plumb vertical and horizontal sights. Also, there are four magnets attached to the bottom of the level and are much stronger than the strip magnets on other levels. There is plumb site that is mirrored so that you can view the vial in different positions especially if your are in an awkward position. There is a strap attached to the 45 degree end which helps in hanging the level at your work bench.

This level was great. Quality; excellent. The level is machined out of an aluminum billet, very solid and looks great. the magnets are super strong and it had a ruler on the side.Design: Excellent. it has 4 vials, level, plumb, 45 & 30 degrees. it has a unique feature called plumb site which allows the plumb vile to be read on three sides. in fact All vials can be read on three sides, that is very cool. most torpedo levels can’t do that. There is one more point i want to make, i talked about all the good features the level, it has no bad features. Kapro developed an excellent torpedo level, all the features i could ever want in a torpedo level and no more. No thumb screws, No digital readout, No laser lines, these features are nice for some tools but not a torpedo level. Some tool manufacturers put so many features on a tool it becomes hard to use. This level is a pleasure to use.Performance: this level works great, the v grove on top sits well on top of PVC pipe, the magnets make it work for metal pipes & studs and the three reading sides makes it usable anywhere. i have had it for three weeks and i absolutely love it, it is the one in my tool box now:)

This little level is packed with uses. Can be used as a plumb. Has horizontal and vertical level. 30′ and 45′ level. It is a 8 inch ruler. Its has a powerful magnet for leveling pipe or to store on the fridge or the side of a tool box. The level can be used on round or plat surfaces. The tool has a lanyard and 2 additional holes to hang the tool on a nail or peg if you hang your tools on a wall. I find myself grabbing this level all the time I have one in my tool box and one hangs on the fridge. Ladies you may want one of these for hanging pictures. Such a handy little tool.

This is and excellent high quality and innovative anodized aluminum torpedo level! I have always liked Kapro levels they are very high quality and innovative and they have many specialty levels and this will make my 4th Kapro level. The main feature that made me want this level is that is has their patented Plumb Site Dual View Vial which allows you to see the plumb vial from the front so that you don’t have to put your head against the wall to try and see the 90 degree plumb vial which is a really cool feature. It has 4 epoxy locked vials including a horizontal 0 degree vial, the Plumb Site Dual View 90 degree vertical vial, a 45 degree vial, and a 30 degree vial. It has a V-groove across the top so that you can easily put it on pipe and it has 4 very strong rare earth magnets across the bottom. The horizontal 0 degree vial can be seen from both sides as well as the top and bottom and the 30 degree and 45 degree vials can be seen from both sides and also have top view windows that you can see them thru the top of the level and the plumb 90 degree vial can be seen from both sides in addition to the front thanks to Kapro’s Plumb Site Dual View Vial. Including this level I have 4 torpedo levels and this one has the biggest vial bubbles of any of them making them very easy to see and read. It also has an 8 inch ruler across the bottom and a hanging strap on the top. The fit and finish on this level is of the highest quality and I love the burgundy anodized color, it looks great and makes the level easy to see and find. I highly recommend this level. I urge you to watch my video on it to see all the features!

SUMMARY: A nice, compact level. BACKGROUND: I have several spirit levels but most are either 2 feet or longer, or have only a level vial. The chance to evaluate the Kaypro Electrican Level was a welcome opportunity.FIT AND FINISH: This is a nice, solid feeling tool. The die-cast and machined aluminum give the level a quality appearance. The 4 vials are epoxied into place and look and feel like they can handle hard work. The level itself has a V-groove on top for referencing on pipe or conduit. The bottom surface is machined and has rare-earth magnets that allow you to place it onto a metal surface for hands-free measurement and adjustments. Slots in the V-groove side allow you to see the vials from a third angle and the plumb vial has the “Plumb Site” mirror so you can see the bubble from the V-groove side.OPERATION: Very intuitive to use. Vials all checked dead on in 8 directions, rather surprising for a level this small. The magnets are handy for use on metal surfaces, but magnets on the V-groove would be even better for use on pipe and conduit. Although labeled as an Electrician level there was no pipe clamp on either end for use when bending conduit.SUMMARY: A great level in a small form factor. A welcome addition to my general work tool pouch.PROS: Sturdy, AccurateCONS: No magnets on V-groove, No pipe clamp.

This is a true 9 inch level that helps when a couple of extra inches are required. Its slime design, length, and weight make it easy to fit into many pouch sizes and variations. Quite comfortably. The bright red design make it easy to spot.Comes in handy for an electrician working on conduit. The magnets on this particular level are very strong and require the extra effort to pry off of pipe. This is a solid hold. Also, has an 8 inch ruler which comes in handy for short offsets and measurements without the need to pull out your tape measure. The vials are easy to read and vary from horizontal. vertical, 45°, and 30° most commonly used by electricians. They are also welded shut and fall well within the V-groove. The lanyard will tend to fall behind the magnet and get in the way. Best if removed. The featured PLUMB SITE appears to be more of a last minute idea. It fell off during initial inspection upon purchase. Set it in my tool pouch for safekeeping now it is barely visible as it is easily scratched and has come undone. I plan on gluing it back it using some epoxy to replace the cheaply adhesive used. Perhaps may come in handy in the future. A 4/5 review. Its shortcomings on delivering a plumb site view keeps this from being the perfect ideal level for an electrician. Without a doubt a well recommended product.

I found this product design very well thought out. For a small tool it has many functions which make it very desirable to have in your toolbox. The quality is excellent. I have been able to use it on several projects like leveling appliances when attached to metal sides or top, to check plumb thru mirror, checking level of rounded objects like pipes. The tether is very handy for storage or just temporarily hanging while working. The only thing that might be useful would be if the magnets could be disabled as some magnetic bases that have a way to block magnets. This would be good when around components that are sensitive to magnets.

This is a very high quality and innovative product. The aluminum frame is solid and has a good weight to it, far from one of those lightweight plastic levels. There are 4 magnets on one side that hold the level tight on steel. The reverse side has a groove for resting on pipe and you can see the level though the magnetic side (now face up) via a mirror (very clever). The 30, 45, 90 (horizontal and vertical) levels are solid. My only very minor question is why the carry strap, cut mine off and hang it using the hole. All-in-all a very good product.
