I opted for this dongle after getting a used 2017 macbook pro to connect my external monitor to. It being a full $35, I assumed the quality would be noticeably better than display cable adapters that I had used in the past. It’s not really. It is functional, so far, for the week that I’ve had it but just holding it, it feels quite hollow and cheap. Not sure if I would recommend this option over cheaper ones. Hopefully the elevated price means it’ll last longer..
