Expand the capabilities of your laptop with the Kensington SD4850P USB Type-C Docking Station. Ideal for the user who needs to connect various devices ranging from USB-based peripherals to multiple external displays. Additionally, this docking station provides 100-watt power delivery, enhancing charging speeds for mobile devices such as phones and tablets.
Your laptop connects to the front end of this docking station alongside USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports for enhanced data transfer speeds up to 10 GB/s. You will also find a 3.5mm audio jack as well as an SD card reader. The back of this device features four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, an ethernet port, one HDMI port, and two DisplayPort++ inputs. Another USB Type-C port can also be found on the back of the dock, giving you the ability to connect to a display as long as your laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Additionally, a power button is located on the left side, with Kensington security slots located on the right.

Since I have been working from home for the last year, I took the opportunity to set up a second office in my bedroom for when the household is too interrupting. So used this docking station for a small desk set up away from the rest of the house. It’s perfect for what I needed. Works for my dual monitors, has ethernet too which I didn’t need, FOUR USBs, etc. It’s nice and lightweight and takes up minimal space.

The Kensington SD4850p USB-C 10 Gbps Dual Video Driverless Dock is perfect for working from home. I’m able to charge my laptop directly from the dock and use everything else attached to it simultaneously with just one cord. One huge plus is the built in SD card reader; a lot of docks lack that feature. It also doesn’t have any lag time when displaying on two monitors. I’ve benefited from the hdmi connections as well. Overall this is a great choice!!

I am loving this new Kensington docking station. If you are a professional or even just for home use you are already familiar with Kensington products and how they are always a very high end quality product. This one is no different and probably the top of the Kensington product line in my opinion. I work as a remote sales manager and often times I am on the go and have to take my laptop that is connected to my home station. With this docking station I am able to easily disconnect one cable and quickly go. Then when I return I am able to plug right back in and have access to my extended monitor. I also leave my headset connected to the docking station and it always stays charged up. Two features I really like is that I am also able to connect my 4K tv in my home office and display on it from the docking station. Also the SD card reader on the from of the docking station. Really makes it simple for me to take out of my camera and right into the docking station to load onto my computer. That feature alone is worth having it for me and the number of pictures I take. I would recommend you get this docking station if you are needing to dock and undock on a regular basis.

I really like this docking bay as it solved my problem of the power connector not working on my laptop anymore. You can also connect multiple monitors and USB devices to this docking bay. Converting your laptop to a PC is easy with this device. I’ll recommend this product to all of my friends.

The Kensington USB-C docking station has an impressive array of features and ports. It handled everything I needed to connect in order to hook up my home office that includes a laptop, dual monitors, printer, ethernet, phone charger, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, and still has plenty of ports left over. I also like the inclusion of the SD card reader and hdmi port which could come in handy down the road. The dock really cuts down on my visible cords and clutter and makes disconnecting/reconnecting my laptop to my home office a snap.

The Power rating is very misleading. Awer supplylthough the description states 100 Watts, it only passes approx 60 Watts to the laptop. There are not many laptops that can charge on a 60 Watt power supply.

If you travel for work this is a great docking station. It charges your devices and gives you the ability to use onsite monitors. I have used other docking stations, they worked but this is quite a bit smaller. will easily fit into a laptop backpack. I have added it to my travel gear.
