I have two of the SD7000s – one for my home office and one for my work office. I have desktops at both locations so the Surface Pro 6 (SP6) I have is my travel PC. I have a MS Studio which I love and that is what attracted me to the SD7000…it basically turns my SP6 into a mini-Studio. It is extremely well-built (the base is heavy) and it has all the necessary ports. Essentially, it does everything that the specs claim. By adding in an external keyboard and mouse, it turns your SP6 into a great little desktop. The only negative I can think of is that it is expensive.

I have been using surface Pro Tablets and a Microsoft dock since the Surface Pro 4 came out. The Surface Pro has during this time served as my tablet and in conjunction with the dock as me desktop. Lately the Microsoft dock as been acting up so I decided replace it with the Kensington SD 7000 dock. The SD7000 is very precisely and well made and performs great. The precision did cause a problem though because I have always used a tempered glass screen protector on my surface. I found that with the screen protector on my surface Pro 5 won’t fit into the dock. When I took the screen protector off it slides in and out very smoothly. I am a little disappointed that I can no longer use a screen protector. Other than the screen proctor issue my only concern is that I feel that it is a little overpriced. The ability to adjust the position easily is very nice however I am not really convinced that it is worth $200 more than the Microsoft dock. If you need the adjustability and can afford the price I am sure you will be happy with this dock
