To be honest this thing is almost like a toy. At first I measured a 60 feet section then remeasured with my long tape and got the same number so I was measuring all over the yard. With 9999.9 limit one could go for awhile. The only downside is if your walking the wheel can move and add and/or subtract the total so it would be a good idea to bring a note pad when measuring.

Never again will I need assistance for taking long distance readings. I can easily measure for projects around the yard by myself. The Roadrunner easily measures long distances. Just use the convenient mark for starting and walk along. The adjustable handle makes it work for myself 6′ or shorter individuals as well. It stores easily too. The flip down side supports and collapsible handle work well. It is light weight but should hold well for both home owner and contractor.

I got this measuring wheel to use around our farm and it is working great. I have used it to measure for fencing as well as a driveway addition and it seems to be pretty accurate. I did test it against a 100′ tape measure and it seems to be very close, with the few inches difference probably being from the rough terrain that I use it on. If you were buying one for professional use, you might want to go up a grade but for the average personal use, it works fine. Also, the adjustable handle is a plus.

This heavy duty polyurethane wheeled measurer from Kenson features an easy to read magnified counter that measures feet and inches and a pistol grip handle that adjusts to several heights to aide in comfort while using. A spring loaded kickstand on the base of the unit keeps the measuring wheel upright on any somewhat flat surface from grass to pavement. This measuring wheel makes easy work of measuring property lines, fence lengths, and long runs of underground wiring or sprinkler pipe. I have used mine to measure the length of a electrical wire run to feed power to a shed.

The Keson 12-1/2 In. Measuring Wheel is a handy, all around measuring wheel that works just as well on irregular surfaces like lawns, as it does on smooth pavement. The 12-1/2 inch diameter wheel rolls nicely over small ruts, unfortunately, it requires a little extra care when not being used. It is a precision instrument, and I certainly would not toss it in the back of a pick up and expect it to survive the bouncing.

Assembly was quick and easy, putting the handle in the self locking hole and it was ready to use. It has a pistol grip for easy steering and fits comfortably in your hand. Very easy to read big 5 digit counter which measures up to 9,999 feet and 11 inches. It also has a safety reflector on the handle, three spoke heavy duty rubber wheel. And a flip up folding stand, so it will stand by itself..This unit has a collapsible handle which reduces height to 23 inches for storage. Very nice piece of equipment for measuring property lines and measuring space for parking boats and trailers on property. Makes measuring a one man operation and is very accurate.

Every year some friends and I go out to the desert for rifle target practice from 100 – 500 yards. We have previously used a 100 foot tape measure to measure the distance, but that takes two people to do and the process is really annoying when trying to measure more than 100 yards.This measuring wheel should make that much easier. You can walk at a brisk pace with this wheel and measure long distances very quickly. The 3 foot diameter wheel is plastic with a thick solid rubber ‘tire’. It works great on smooth surfaces, but because the tire is relatively hard, it does get bounced / banged a round a little bit on rough surfaces, like a brick walkway. When I take it out to the desert, I’ll probably have to be somewhat careful to pick a relatively smooth path and avoid rocks.The wheel moves very easily and smoothly, and the counter works quietly and smoothly as well. I noticed that the counter will decrease if you move the wheel backwards–so if you walk too far, you can just backtrack to get the correct measurement.The collapsable handle is a nice feature. It has three pieces that telescope, making the wheel and handle about 23″ tall when collapsed and 38″ when fully extended. I’m 5′ 8″, and I don’t need to fully extend the handle, so it should be fairly comfortable for someone as tall as 6′.The handle is not connected to the wheel when you pull it out of the box, so you insert the handle to assemble it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the handle can be removed once it is inserted–it’s held in place by a plastic tab inside the wheel counter body, so I’m afraid I’ll break something if I try and remove the handle.The wheel also has a metal wire ‘kick stand’ that lets you park it upright.The price for these types of measuring wheels does seem relatively expensive for what they are and what they do, but it is made in the USA and this wheel is well made and seems very durable.

I now know “exactly” how far it is from my front step to the library, the grocery, the hardware store, the soccer park, my kid’s schools, the community center and the fishing bridge. We take it with us wherever we walk in town and the kids have recorded the distance to all of their important destinations. Now we have plans to make distance markers to install around the walking track we use when the weather is nice. Fun research/measurement project for the kids, but also quite useful for marking out playing fields and the like. I will use it this summer for a number of events (frisbee throw and the like)Accounting for bumpy ground, it matches up reasonably well with my 300 foot open reel tape. Obviously it cannot be as accurate as a transit or even a tape, but for getting pretty close estimates for a perimeter fence or a “fun run”, plenty accurate.Light weight, but seems to be built to take it. The kids have been warned to not abuse it, but I am not too worried.

Appears to be very accurate. You can walk at a brisk pace and it appears to keep up with you. The numbers are easy to read even from a distance (you don’t have to squat down to see it). Works on all types of surfaces, rough and smooth alike. I have used it on grass, a rough field and pavement. The “kick stand” make it so the devise leans on an angle which means you have to be careful if not on a level site. The materials are tough, but as a precision instrument you don’t want it getting whacked around.

This seems to be very accurate. I had a different one of these that was a lot cheaper and it was not as accurate and didn’t last very long. This is very well made and has nice features such a collapsible handle and a stand which folds up when in use. The numbers are easy to read, even without my glasses. Works well on smooth or rough surfaces. Measures up to 10,000 ft. minus an inch.

I have wanted one of these ever since I saw those guys who mark your utility lines get one out and use it. I find myself using this measuring wheel more than I thought I would. I got it so I could get the square footage of the front yard so I new the amount of lawn care products that I needed to order but I also used it to measure around the pool so I could replace the cover and just this past week the wind took out my old wooden fence and I needed to get the distance so I could get quotes for a new fence. Very handy.

I am really impressed with this ROADRUNNER 12-1/2 IN. MEASURING WHEEL WITH ADJUSTABLE PISTOL GRIP HANDLE. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed this in the past. It is so simple to use, even though it is light weight, it will stand up to normal use. It is accurate up to 9999 feet 11 inches. I got this to replace the measuring wheel I normally use because of its compactness. Just flip a couple levers and this thing retracts into something so small it can easily be transported to any job site. I used this recently to measure out the distance for a privacy fence and found it to be accurate. Seems well made. I am 6’1 and when fully extended is comfortable to use and easy to read.
