I’m using it on a 7 year old Mac PowerBook G4 computer to communicate with a vintage Tandy CoCo3 computer. Zero configuration on my part. Worked on first attempt and ever since!

I’ve used this adapter for years very successfully with WinXP and Win7. Works perfectly; five stars. But I cannot get it to work reliably with Windows 10; zero stars. Everything seems OK at first with Win10, but the adapter triggers a blue screen of death from time to time due to a problem in the driver. I can’t live with that.

I have used this product for over 5 years on both Windows XP and 7 without issue. I have used it to interface several RS232 devices. Make sure to have the driver installed, plug in the device and verify it is loaded in device manager before opening any other software that will use the com port it creates. Do this and you will not have any issues. Other devices I used would disconnect intermittently and fail to work requiring manual disconnecting and re-connecting, sometimes to a different USB port to get it to work. Not with this product, it has worked for hours at a time without issue.

I’ve used other USB – Serial adapters, but I never have to wonder whether my Keyspan will work. This is the second one I’ve owned, since a customer of ours wanted the first one. I had no problem recommending the Keyspan for his application. I keep one in my computer bag.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do: converts your USB port to serial port. Hassle free, easy setup and use. I use it to connect to console port of Cisco routers using my laptop. Reliable, solid piece that works when you need it.

We use the adapter in a manfacturing shop to communicate with one of our machine and a Win7 pro computer. No issues

Contrary to other posted comments, this device does work with El Capitan. I have two that are on two different computers (an iMac and a MacBook Pro) that receive daily use. About to purchase a third for a relative to use on a Mac Mini. I’ve deployed these on several Windows systems too. Absolutely 100% reliable and works without a hitch on both Mac OS X and Windows.

Does exactly what it says it will do. Have it connecting Davis Vantage Plus with Mac Pro computer running OS 10.7.5, using Davis WeatherLink software. No problems

At first I was concerned about having to navigate a user interface each time I wanted to use my RS-232/Com-3 which by the way is missing on many new computers. In 5 minutes, I had loaded and configured Keyspan which operates in the background after config- downloaded all of my waypoints from my Garmin GPS and had the points up on GoogleEarth in a jiffy. (Used EasyGPS free download; don’t forget to config EasyGPS for Com-3)

Many industrial automation systems still use serial communications. Since a serial port is no longer included in most laptops, an add on port is essential. The Keyspan unit is the only one I have found that fully supports serial communication and has worked with all interfaces I have tried, even picky ones like Allen Bradley.

I bought this to sync my telescope keypad. Worked flawlessly!

I have one in use on a computer running 24/7. Each time I need to go out in the field and program another unit, I had to disconnect it and bring it along. Now I keep one in my go kit. The adapter has never failed me and I have read of the knock offs out there that do not always perform. Well pleased and although more expensive than others, you get what you pay for.

I recently damaged my laptop serial port. Rather than replace the laptop I bought a USA 19HS. This is a USB to serial connection. I connects with every PLC I program, first time, every time. I have equipped all my laptops USA 19HS adapters. I love the reliability.

I have a MacBook Pro dual-booted with OS 10.9 and Windows 8.1 Update 1. This adapter works on both, without any issues. The manufacturer has the latest drivers available on their website.

I’ve been using this model for years in the oilfield measurement industry and it’s never failed me. Recently it’s been very handy when connecting to Bristol Controllers, as it will allow the program to poll for the local address, where the other adapter I have will not. Just keep an eye on the cord plugged into the back, it has a habit of coming out if your not paying attention.

I have an older Tripp Lite online UPS that only has a serial port for the interface. This adapter allowed me to communicate with the UPS over USB. I did have an install problem, but Tripp Lite tech support walked me through the driver config and all is well. PS: And Tech Support was a real person on the phone… amazing in this day, and to be commended.

Finally a product that actually works the first time without any problems. Ive used this adapter on several UPS manufactures without any problems. I am using Windows 8 and have the latest version of Hyper Terminal. I highly recommend the 19HS!!!

Newer Laptops don’t come with a serial port. I could not connect my Meade LX-200 GPS telescope or upgrade the Autostar II Handset. The USA19HS USB to Serial Adapter(Mac/PC) by Keyspan was easy to install and configure. It did exactly what it was supposed to do.

If you are working with a Gamewell-FCI panel, I recommend purchasing this product as it works great when downloading your HyperTerminal reports and/or downloading programs to the panel. This is also recommended by Gamewell-FCI tech support and I can see why.

I have a 2007 24 iMac and after many tries with other cables I finally found one that works . I been setting up my iMac for astronomy . I needed cable/s that work with apple products so this is the one! I’m using SkySafari 1.8 and wanted to operate my Celestron AVX mount , This cable did the trick . Also I have a Orion Auto guider and a Meade deep sky camera working too and it all works perfect ! THE only thing is the driver on the disk is a bit outdated and at 1st it didn’t work , I went online to there site and downloaded / loaded the driver for my operating system and it worked perfect – finally I can operate the telescope from inside the house and NOT freeze ! perfect
