Built with a USB 3.0 Type-A interface, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, the Data Traveler 100 G3 features read speeds of up to 130 MB/s and is compatible with USB 2.0. As an alternative to an easy-to-lose cap, its USB Type-A connector is protected by a sliding mechanism that covers it when the drive isn’t in use.
Kingston’s Data Traveler 100 G3 USB 3.0 Flash Drive is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 (SP1), macOS 10.10 and later, Linux 2.6.x and later, and Chrome. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty with free technical support.

bought five to store short movies. The first two would not play back, kept stopping and distorting the images. It also receives info slow. stored documents OK. Did not try the other three. Never have had problems with other flash drives. have two new computers and three older, I doubt its my equipment.

I just got it to install windows 10 on my PC and it did it’s job very well. The materials feel high quality, and I like the way it clicks to close and open. The retracting mechanism feels sturdy enough for many years of use.

I bought 2 of these and I have another 3.0 usb drive. Both of these don’t even compare with my other. They have basically 2.0 speeds in a 3.0 port. You get what you pay for I guess, but I am shocked that I was let down by a Kingston product.
