Like this cap cover version over other brands that slide.

I’m writing this review 5 hours into trying to write Windows 11 to one of these. It’s still only 80% done…

For the money, this flash drive performs well. On my Linux Mint 19.1 system read speed was about 110 MB/s with write speed around 13 MB/sec. Comparable Silicon Power flash drives I have clock-in at reads of 111 MB/s and writes of only 8 MB/s, while a Lexar unit reads at 138 MB/s while writing at 9 MB/s. So overall a good performance and well suited to my sneaker net uses.

I buy a lot of these every year to pass out videos of concerts done by various bands. Each band performs for about an hour and a half. I mail each band one of these flash drives with an HD version of their entire concert so that they can upload it to their websites and promote their band. These drives meet and exceed my expectations!

I purchased 20 of the Kingston 32GB drives in order to distribute a couple of large (3GB) files. Physically it has solid construction and the white color made it easy to write on it. However, the performance had two key issues. First, the write speed (plugged into a 3.2 port) transferring a 3 GB file, would start off at about 35 MB/s (280 Mb/s) and then after about 350 MB were transferred, it would slow down to about 12 MB/s (96 Mb/s). The second problem was about half of the drives would simply stop in the middle of the transfer. I found that if I reformatted the drive (FAT32 like it was) it would then transfer correctly.

Besides the high quality of this item, it is the only brand I will purchase now. I was informed when I tried to download software for my new Jeep and my wife’s Durango that we had to use Kingston drives. I was unable to download Uconnect software into my vehicle until I switched to Kingston, per the factory service centers rep. I won’t purchase any other brand.

Drag and drop a 80GB file and it says it’s to big of a file…it’s 128GB thumb drive. I have been able to drag much smaller files onto it (3-4GB), But they are useless to me. Waste of money and I bought 2 sets, 4 total.

Had no problem using these drives for photo and music backups. They don’t appear to be any faster or slower than drives I have from other manufacturers. I’d get them again.
