The lid assembly with the switch lasts about a year. I’m about to buy my second replacement.

I bought this a month ago and so happy I did. It grinds the coffee the way I like it. The extra cups to grind spices is an extra nice bonus.

I have had 4 other grinders ( 3 blade type and one burr type ) and this is the best by far. Detachable cups make cleaning and pouring easy. I found grinding about 1/2 the cup capacity at a time works best. Burr grinders give more flexibility on type of grind but cost more and are much harder to clean.

This has so many great features. The best is that I can remove the cup and blade to completely wash it out. Other grinders can only be wiped clean and the residual taste of many different types of coffee is left behind. The added fact that this is also a spice grinder is a fantastic bonus.

I like to grind my coffee beans and flax seeds just before using, so this grinder with the extra cups is the perfect solution. It only takes mere seconds.

I have used this product for just over a week and am pleased to report on it’s performance. I happened to have some dried rosemary seeds in my spice cabinet and decided to grind them down to use in a spare shaker. In just moments the job was done. The container that I ground them in is self contained and there was no mess to clean up. It worked just as well with peppercorns. I usually use a burr grinder for my coffee beans as blade grinders usually get very hot while grinding. Not so with the KitchenAid Coffee and Spice Grinder. It perfectly ground my coffee beans and they didn’t get overcooked and acidic. This item is super easy to set up and use. Having the extra cups makes it easy to grind and store in the same container. You can even use one as a shaker. Great product at a great price.

Fast, efficient grinder. Use it mainly for coffee, but also to grind flax seeds or whole cardamom once in a blue. It’s great that it has multiple grinding cups so if the cup I used to grind my coffee is still dirty, I can just grab the second cup and grind my flax seeds. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for grinder to satisfy all of your coffee, seed, and spice grinding needs.
