I thought it work smoothly in grinding coffee beans to the consistency I like – not too loud either. Attractive design – fits with other Kitchen Aid products. Liked the fact that it came with separate grinding bowls – one for coffee and 2 for grinding spices.

This product holds more than other similar products. I used the spice grinder for both peppercorns and dried sage leaves (I grow sage in my garden). The user manual says how long to grind the spices, so that’s a big help. The results were very good. The pepper came out ground to perfection and the sage was ready to use in no time. I’ll experiment with other herbs and spices, but I am optimistic that the results will be similar. This makes growing herbs well worth the trouble. The only downside I experienced was that the main cover didn’t always engage the switch when grinding spices. To use the spice grinder, the smaller cup is screwed into the base, then the spice cover is attached. Over that is placed the main cover, which presses down on the switch to turn the blade. I suppose it takes a bit of practice to get this whole combination just right. To clean the grinding cup, a bottle brush is the best tool. Overall it is a good product and I’m glad I bought it.

Great for making small amounts of coffee as well as a full pot. Clean up is a snap. I have an old KitchenAid coffee grinder which I have saved. This new one is much quieter, easier to cleaner, and more versatile.

I was provided this product free of charge in exchange for my review. Overall, I like this coffee and spice grinder. We do not drink coffee in my house, so I will review the product as a spice grinder. The motor is quite powerful. We used the grinder to grind some cinnamon. It was a little difficult because of the size of the cinnamon sticks. It worked well once the pieces were smaller. I do not think cinnamon sticks were the best spice to try. We used the coffee grinder piece to grind whole wheat. It worked quite well. It is small, so we were not able to do a lot at one time. However, it was fun and easy for my daughters to use. The biggest difficulty I had was in keeping the lid on the spice grinder cups. It could have been that I was using them wrong, but the lid kept popping off. Maybe with more practice, it will get easier. I look forward to getting more whole spices and grinding them on my own. And because it is so easy to run, my daughters are able to help. It is a great learning tool for them as well.

I bought this grinder mainly for grinding fresh spices. Fresh spices give Indian Cuisine a different level all together. Very glad I chose this grinder. Works like a charm.

The small container is not working well. Grain goes under the container and motor goes stuck.

I love coffee and I bought this to go with my cold brew machine (that I love) I have been having a ton of fun grinding up beans and it works like a charm. Really easy to use, really easy to clean, super quiet, easy to store, and looks great! Classic Kitchenaid! I have not used the spice grinder part but I am excited and don’t see a reason that it won’t work great!. My coffee is amazing because of this little machine! Very glad I bought it. The only regret is that I got silver instead of red and I wish I would have gotten the red one to match my mixer.

coffee grinder does not grind beans uniformly, difficult to get coffee out after grinding. Had an old kitchen aid grinder that was much much better but no longer available.
