I am working on being a Vegan for better health and weight loss. Though I have great knives and knife skills, this food processor has made preparing vegetables for entrees a breeze! I simply love it! And it is much quieter than my blender! The bowl size is just right for a single person. I also preserve fruits and vegetables and this tool helps with preparing those jams, chutneys, and pickles. I plan to order an extra bowl when it comes available.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I loved my old KitchenAid food processor but the safety catch on the lid handle broke. It cost as much to buy a new lid from a reseller as it did to buy a brand new processor so obviously i got a new processor. This is the third time over a period of years that I’ve had to buy a new food processor because the plastic safety catch in the lid broke and a new lid was either unavailable or more expensive than the entire unit. Not sure that was the right choice. This lid has a poorly designed handle hinge. The flimsy safety closure tab across from the handle is guaranteed to be the first thing that breaks, long before the motor does. Also, the inner tube pusher falls out when you flip the lid up. The unit is much lighter than my old one indicating that metal parts have been replaced by plastic which is never a good development in terms of longevity. I will be honest – as a food processor it actually operates ok. I can just anticipate that the flimsy safety catch is going to break prematurely if the lid fails off the counter by accident and the cost of replacing a cheap part is too high.

I’ve used the food processor twice. With no previous experience with a food processor, my first experience was good, but I wasn’t sure if I should expect more. On my 2nd use, things all turned out great. I am going to rely on the instruction book until I get more experience things become more second nature. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because, to me, the slicer/grater disc seemed a little light weight. Again, however, I do not have previous experience with food processors and limited experience using this one.
