This blender is amazing for the price point. So far it can handle just about anything I throw at it. The only downside is if you want super fine ice it does an ok job but still leaves chunks. Overall I use this almost daily for smoothies and shakes and I coundn’t ask for a better blender for the price.

First off, this blender has such an attractive design. It’s retro, yet modern. The base is heavy which is important – because the blender doesn’t jump around when blending hard items. Anyone who has purchased different blenders or smoothie-makers has probably witnessed this with some blenders – they move around because the “engine” is so strong. But not this one. It stays put. Also, the carafe is made of substantially strong material and appears very long-lasting. Now on to the results – my title is captioned: “Let it snow” because the first thing I did with this blender is test its ice crushing feature and it blended the ice beautifully. It literally looked like snow! No doubt, this powerful blender would make excellent smoothies and even ice cream. It blends perfectly without liquifying. If it can handle ice so effortlessly, it can handle anything. Also, it blends pretty quickly so you don’t have to worry about blending. My only qualm with this blender is that though it has different speeds (which really vary) to ensure you’re getting the results you seek, the ice crush feature requires you to continuously hold the dial. Not sure why, but you don’t have to hold it for long to crush ice anyway. Maybe it’s to make sure you don’t overblend the ice. All-in-all, I must say that I’m very impressed by both the looks and performance of the Kitchenaid K-150 blender. Like all Kitchenaid items that I have (and I have many) this one doesn’t disappoint.

I am beyond thrilled to have this blender. Beautiful design and I am perfectly comfortable leaving it displayed on my kitchen counter top, no need to cover or put in a cabinet. The ice crushing component is everything I expected and more. I was very concerned about the plastic scratching with the ice but there is not one scratch. I know a lot of people who will be happy here this summer with a variety of snowcones on the menu.
