I just purchased my first KitchenAid stand mixer. When I unpacked the box, I was amazed that, after spending a lot of money on this mixer, that the wire whip was an oxidized aluminum, ugly attachment that I wouldn’t want to touch my food. Even after I washed it, it was very shabby and discolored. My question to KitchenAid is why did you cheap out on this attachment? This should be shiny stainless steel that you are not afraid to put in your food.

I am happy that I bought this, but I do have a couple of complaints. First, it is incredibly heavy, so I am forced to leave it on my counter. Thankfully, it is very pretty — I got the pistachio color. Secondly, there is a bump on the bottom of the bowl that seems to prevent the very bottom ingredients from being mixed in, especially when the quantities are small. As a result, I tend to use my hand mixer if it’s a small quantity. So bottom line, it’s not as fantastic as I thought it would be, but I do like it.

I got this as a Christmas gift to replace my 15 yr. old 4.5 QT KitchenAid Stand mixer (that still works!!) from my son. I love the red color, and will use this for years to come.

After years of thinking I didn’t REALLY need a new mixer, I broke down and purchased one for our home for Christmas! I’ve been using my wedding present hand mixer since I received that 25 years ago but decided to try out the KitchenAid. Love the colors, love the power. I’ve only used it once so far and love it! My only complaint is that the bowl feels very small for multiple batches and the mixers do not mix the sides of the bowl. I know I will have to eventually buy the separate scraper attachment because this will drive me crazy. I feel it should have come with it already. Definitely looking forward to the multitude of attachments to experiment with!

Features I love! Heavy enough that I don’t have to worry about it “hopping” off the counter when using. The flex edge beater is the best tool ever because it is continuously scrapping the bowl completely as well as thoroughly mixing the dough. Motor is quiet and smooth while running. Looks so pretty on the counter!

I bought this mixer a month ago, and since then my husband is eager to help with the baking. Nothing like an appliance to suck a man into a kitchen. The mixer is sturdy, quiet, and easy to use. Clean-up is a breeze.

I received my RED kitchenaid stand up mixer for Christmas. It assisted me in making 12 pecan pies for the new year! It went do much faster than in previous years with hand mixing. I love it!!

As an after Christmas gift to myself I purchased a 5 quart tilt head. Been doing a lot, let me say that again, A LOT, of baking during this pandemic. I am so into breads right now. This machine has made my kneading exponentially easier and given me free use of my hands for other things. Very happy I decided to treat myself.

I’ve used this for a little over a month now and I love it. I’m an avid bread maker so I have used it mostly for bread. It mixed the dough very nicely and the bowl that the mixer came with is great. Very easy to clean and it’s really pretty

As excited as I was to receive the 5 quart mixer, it did not work in any outlet when I plugged it in. I was so disappointed because I love and trust all my Kitchen Aid mixers. (I have owned only two with life spans of almost 50 years!.) I bake with a group of ladies and we mail homemade treats to deployed service men and my old Kitchen Aid mixer has made laboring sounds when I mix up batches of biscotti and other cookies. My rating below is based on my first two mixers, not this one that has been returned for credit.

While I am loving having a stand mixer and it has worked well for my cooking projects, it does slightly worry me that the mixer moves across the counter some when I’m making bread dough. Brioche requires a longer time in the mixer to fully develop and incorporate all of the butter. So, the mixer gets hot after 20 minutes or so to accomplish this. Sometimes the speed will inch up or down too, though this might be because of the weight of the dough? Again, it’s hanging with me and handling what I throw at it.
