I had always heard so much about the Kitchenaid mixer that when I got one for Christmas I was ecstatic. I made bread for the first time ever using the hook and it worked great. The machine forever seemed…loose. I mean it rattled more than of thought it should. Maybe I was expecting to much, but when I watch all the how-to videos the machines they use seems a lot quieter.

My husband and I are in the middle of a DIY kitchen remodel, one small step at a time, on a shoestring budget due to COVID. I was telling my sisters about the trials of the project, and how I was planning on treating myself to a stand mixer once it was all done. We are going with very neutral colors in the kitchen, and I thought a red mixer on the countertop would just really pop. Well, my dear sisters surprised us for Christmas, and sent us the KitchenAid Artison in Empire Red! We put it to use right away as we couldn’t wait until the remodeling was done. Pizza dough, horseradish mashed potatos, whipping cream, etc. It is very easy to use, abslutely beautiful, and its already helping us save money by being able to cook more at home. Oh, and its really easy to clean. We love it so much that we are already saving up for the pasta-making attachments!

After years of thinking I didn’t REALLY need a new mixer, I broke down and purchased one for our home for Christmas! I’ve been using my wedding present hand mixer since I received that 25 years ago but decided to try out the KitchenAid. Love the colors, love the power. I’ve only used it once so far and love it! My only complaint is that the bowl feels very small for multiple batches and the mixers do not mix the sides of the bowl. I know I will have to eventually buy the separate scraper attachment because this will drive me crazy. I feel it should have come with it already. Definitely looking forward to the multitude of attachments to experiment with!
