The metal should solve the cracking that the plastic grinder exhibited.I took 1 start off because the box was too big. I rather have loose parts in the box. Too many extra cleaning accessories.

Attachment works very well, BUT is not the same size as the nylon version, so you cannot use it with the other attachments that fit with the nylon one, like the juicer, for example. My nylon housing had cracked and I was hoping that this would be a replacement. Alas, no.

I have not used this as much as I want to but I have made my own choice ground beef using several different cuts of beef. This grinder is very, very well made, has lots of accessories and very easy to take apart & clean! Is basically idiot proof so reassembly is a breeze. Make sure to put in fridge a few hours before you want to grind. Can’t wait to make my own sausage!

We bought to replace a plastic manual grinder, and what a great accessory for our 20-year old Classic Kitchen Aid mixer. Right out of the box, cleaned as recommended and ground a couple of pounds of beef. So fast and evenly cut, easy to clean. Would highly recommend and hope to make sausages at sometime. Am looking forward to grinding pork for dumplings. We also have the Kitchen Aid pasta roller set and food shredder set, all are wonderful to own and use regularly.Only Con are the parts that are not dishwasher safe, but that is small compared to the quality of these products.
