I occasionally have to work on live wires so this wire stripper is very necessary to strip the wires without getting a shock. I did not like the metal staple that came with these strippers to keep them closed. I prefer to have my “pointy” tools point down but when I have these in my pouch, the staple comes off and leaves me with a tool that gets in the way of getting at my other tools. It would have been better it these strippers had a catch built on them.

Good grip and easy cuts. Great for quick jobs like stripping or cutting smaller grade wires. I haven’t done anything stronger with them but they do appear to be able to hold up to even larger jobs. Small enough to keep in our back pocket when climbing a ladder. What can I say they work great and serve a purpose for every day jobs around the house. I have a better pair but these are a great second pair to have handy for a helper.

Klein Tools – 11 in. Insulated Wire Stripper & Cutter for 8-16 AWG Stranded WireAnytime I have the opportunity to order Klein tools, I definitely take advantage of the opportunity. These are heavy duty stripper and cutters. These are NOT the cheap yellow handle brands. The grips have a great feel. I tried the cutters on some different wire sizes, and it cut and stripped without effort! These strippers will provide many years of use and have already found a home in my daily tool bag.

Klein Tools makes some of the best electrical tools around. Typically when I’m looking for an electrical tool, Klein is the brand I look at first. Now, they are a bit more expensive than some other brands, but in my experience they last for a good while before you need to replace them. In most applications, I prefer to use a gauged automatic wire stripper, which is pretty easy to use. However, there are times when you don’t have a lot of room to work with or you cant really get a good bite on the wires and that’s when a manual gauged wire stripper is better. These are very well made, the spring is responsive and stripping the wire was easy to do. They can strip five different gauges of wire and has a built in wire cutter as well. The handles are comfortable and provides good grip with or without gloves on. There are also two holes on the head that allow you to insert the wire so you can create a hook if you are connecting the wires to an outlet or switch. You can probably find some wire strippers for less, but this is a quality tool from a reliable brand. I would certainly recommend these.

Wire stripping has typically just been done using a sharp blade/cutter so finally decided to add wire strippers to the toolbox. For starters they have a very comfortable grip. As a left hander the design is appreciated. These strippers are made for either hand. The handles are orange so they should be spotted easily. The strippers are spring loaded and remain in an open position at rest. They do not have any sort of built-in locking mechanism. There is a little plastic piece over the jaws. It may be meant for just packaging. If it is meant to close the jaws when at rest it could easily be lost. These stripped wire easily without losing any strands. They seem a little pricy but they are insulated to prevent shock. Very nice strippers!

Very nice quality plier. Quickly cuts a variety of insulation. Made checking for voltage safer due to thick insulating protection. After opening packages clear shrink wrap type covering and removing the metal band keeping pliers closed it was apparent there was supposed to be a spring on the two tabs. Didn’t notice, hear it hit or find it. Wasn’t a big deal as pliers opened easily using pinky finger. Pliers stripped and cut extremely well. Thick handles took a bit to adjust to. Bright color handles made spotting plier quite easy. Overall very satisfied with the performance.

I bought this 11 inch insulated wire stripper and cutter for some rewiring projects I had. The insulated handles are not only good for protection against electrocution, but they really add to the comfort while stripping and cutting wire. I also like that it is clearly marked with the different wire sizes to make sure I get a clean strip. The blade is sharp and the thickest wires cut easily. A very nice Made in USA product.

Finally had a chance to use this stripper and it worked like a dream, as one would expect from a Klein tool. It’s very well-made, and made in America, which is important to me. The thick grips not only provide insulation from shock, but they provide a nice comfortable, tacky grip, which also comes in handy sometimes. As a DIYer, I generally do not work with energized wires, but it’s nice to have the extra protection of the insulated handles, just in case. Just a nice, solid wire stripper that would be great for professionals or weekend warriors. Highly recommend.

This wire stripper is probably the best one I have ever used. I love the thick insulated grip handles. They allow you apply good pressure on the wire you want to strip the insulation from. You also have the holes incorporated to create the connector loop. It also has a no. 8 gauge wire size for stripping larger wire. It also has the wire cutter incorporated. Great tool for any electrician/handyman.
