Guard against electric shock while working on live wires with the Klein Tools Insulated Wire Stripper/Cutter. This tool protects up to 1,000-Volt thanks to a dual-layer insulated coating. The dielectric white inner coating is bonded to the tool and the orange outer coating that is flame retardant and impact resistant.
- Cuts, strips and loops both solid and stranded electrical wire
- For use with 10 – 18 solid and 12 – 20 stranded AWG wire

The insulated stripper is more expensive than the cheaper, non-insulated one, but the cheaper stripper (Klein model 11054) has a thumb lock that keeps the jaws in place. This model comes with an inconvenient and useless jaw retainer. Klein needs to add the thumb lock to this one.

When I opened the item, the first thing I noticed was the quality. I really like the insulation on the handle and and the added protection toward the top of the pliers, it really helps to make sure you hands don’t slip and touch the metal.
