Klein Tools’ Katapult® Solid and Stranded Wire Stripper / Cutter has a built-in cutting hole to cleanly cut 8-20 AWG solid and 10-22 AWG stranded wire, while the stripping head allows you to easily grip and strip just by squeezing the handle. Made of cast alloy with a heavy-duty Ecoat finish for corrosion resistance and durability.

Excellent except for crushing and nearly splitting insulation a couple of inches behind place being stripped. (16 AGW, 4-conductor, all copper speaker wire.) Wrapping arm that holds wire with two thicknesses of electrical tape made the tool usable. For what it costs, this issue should have been taken care of in design.

These things are fantastic. My only regret is not getting them sooner. Just finished a stereo swap in my truck and these were instrumental in that project. I have had the old cutter/stripper pliers but they put a lot of stress on the wire and connection. These stop that stress on the connection and worked great.

I’ve tried a lot of different techniques and tools for DIY electrical projects and this tool is the best so far. It has different slots for different gauges of wire; a good thing. However, always test to see what slot is best for the wire you are using.

Does exactly what I want it to do. I use it for smaller gauge wiring, of which it works quite well. The only somewhat awkward bit is matching the appropriate sized jaws to the wire, but it became easier after a few times.
