Exactly as advertised! Made-for-purpose with the outstanding quality expected from Klein tools. Think ‘pencil-sharpener’ for BIG cables; it avoids possible nicks created by stripping insulation with a knife. We found Klein’s helpful YouTube video demonstrating use. Once you get the hang of it, it’s simple, safe, accurate and handy (although the tool itself is heavy). Combining 4-size versatility with the option to replace blades is another plus!

As an electrical contractor, I had always planned on trying one of these clover-style large cable strippers, and when Klein recently came out with one, I jumped at the chance to finally do so.The tool does work well enough. It is not quite the duty of those I’ve seen in the past, but then what is, today. It’s a metal item, with replaceable blades, so should give a decent length of service. It is made in China, and is just not the quality of Klein that I and most of my fellow electricians have loved for a very many years. I’d rather the price be a little higher, and the quality match that of my beloved US-made Klein stuff.

This cable stripper is very large.I like that it has four different sizes. It is very well made and durable. It has the sizes printed on each section and it is very easy to read.Very easy to operate too.It does have a learning curve if you have never used one before but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it.It seems to have no problem cutting through the casings.I just wish the holes were a bit longer for stability.

This cable stripper is very easy to use. Cable is inserted into the appropriate hole depending on cable size and a simple twist completely around once removes the insulating material from the cable contents inside. This device is made for cables manufactured by CME Wire and Cable, Inc.; United Copper Industries; Encore Wire Corporation and Southwire Company, LLC. It accommodates cable sizes 350 MCM, 500 MCM, 600 MCM and 750 MCM. I used this device on a steel shielded cable of 500 MCM size and the cutter zipped the insulation off quickly and easily. The device is robustly built to withstand trying use and has replaceable cutting blades which can be easily changed. I found that it makes a difficult job quickly and easily done.

I have only used this stripper for 350 mcm cable and I wasn’t too impressed. I can actually strip faster with my pocketknife and cleaner. However, the temperature has been high and the cable I was using was loosely fitting. With cold cable that fit very snug, maybe this stripper would work better. I suspect there is a slight learning curve similar to using a knife. I gave this stripper away and will stick to my knife. Interesting concept though!

This cable stripper is for very large cable as the description states but it works well and does a clean job of stripping. I don’t work with this size cable often but have to say using this stripper saves a lot of time and does a clean job. When used correctly it will not nick the cable. The stripping blades are replaceable which is a big plus. I recommend it for those working with large cable regularly.

If you have to work with really big heavy duty electrical cables, this is the stripper for you. By big, I mean cables that are between ⅞” and 1-3/16 “ in diameter. This corresponds to wire sizes 350 MCM, 500 MCM, 600 MCM and 750 MCM.The tool is laid out as a cross with the four wire sizes on the four arms. One inserts the cable and turns it. This engages a small sharp blade that cuts the cable sheath off. It is easy to use and won’t nick the actual cable wire. The tool feels solid (it is entirely made of metal). Each blade can be removed with an Allen key to sharpen or replace. (Replacements are available too.)There is no hole to attach a lanyard, but if there is a size you never use, one could remove the blade from that arm and thread a lanyard through that opening.Warranty: Product warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when delivered to the customerMade in China

This is a heavy duty cable stripper made out of heavy gauge medal. It removes insulation on 350 mcm, 500 mcm, 600 mcm and 750 mcm. It is clover shaped and has all strippers in one tool. You just insert a cable and twist to get a nice clean cut. It is very heavy duty and should last for a long time. You can buy replacement blades should the blades dull. My only complaint is that it is made in China.

This Klein Tools large cable stripper will make your job a lot simpler. This removes the insulation on MTW/THHN/THWN-2 cable without nicking or cutting the wire. It has four different size from 350, 500, 600 and 750 MCM that is built into one tool. All you do is insert the cable and twist the tool around the cable and it leaves a clean cut. This is must if you do a lot of large wire cutting. If you blades wear out you can purchase separately the replacement blades. A great product from Klein.

This is a “big boy toy”, not for the DYI or small electrical company. This tool strips the outer insulation shield of large service wires. As you can see it has four sides, each with different size holes to do different size wire from 350mcm, 500mcm, 600mcm, and 750mcm. These wires are mainly used for service cables unless your talking heavy industrial or large commercial applications. I found there is a bit of a trick to using this tool. Once you put the wire into the hole don’t try to push hard and mindlessly turn, instead you want to put pressure on the tool as you put the wire in and try to dig the blades into the insulation so that the peel away part comes out of the hole in the tool and allows you to turn completely around. When I first used it I pushed too hard which caused the insulation that was being peeled away not to exit through the hole in the tool, This caused a backup of the excess insulation in the tool and it got clogged up quickly without making a good cut further causing the tool to stop cutting. It took a few times to get a feel for the tool. Once I got the hang of it the cuts looked great.HD sells the replacement blades for around $13 for the set of 4. It’s sturdy and since there are not much to go wrong, it will last a long time.
