This was ordered for a neighbor. He has used these in the past and was happy it came so quickly.

A step up from a hole saw, when more precise openings are required, this cutter does the job. The milling type cutting faces of the tool make quick work of precise hole cutting, compared to a typical hole saw. The tool is provided with an hex key, for replacement of the pilot bit (p/n 31874), should that be necessary. Although my drill press could not be slowed down to the recommended speed (270 rpm), there was only minimal chatter and the final hole was clean and almost burr free, compared to a conventional hole saw, which left a ragged edge on the circumference of the hole. Even at the excessive rpm used, there was no visible damage to the teeth of the cutter after making the hole in the steel test piece. The integral spring “pops” the slug out as soon as the cutter breaches the bottom of the hole.

Holy hole cutter!! I bought this for its low price, and it performed above my expectations. I bought a stainless steel kitchen sink with one hole, but I needed to have 5 more holes for a regular faucet, side sprayer, and hand soap and dish soap dispensers. I used low rpm and some 3 in 1 oil with the drill/hole cutter. It worked very well. The holes have clean edges, and took only about 1 minute each. The spring that’s over the drill bit is a great feature! It pushes the cut-out disk out of the hole cutter, so you don’t have to pry it out after each hole. The two-step starter drill bit really makes the process easier. I probably will never have a need for it again, but it still looks like new. Great tool for the price!
