- Cuts holes in stainless steel, mild steel, iron, copper and brass sheet
- Cuts material up to 3/16 in. (5 mm) thick
- Conduit and pipe sizes: 1/1/4 in.
- Integrated flange prevents the operator from drilling beyond the sheet metal
- Uses replacement pilot bit 31874

When you need a precise hole in steel, there’s simply no substitute for a hi-quality drill bit. And when you’re drilling holes one-to-two inches wide, there’s no substitute for a quality hole cutter. The carbide tips on these cutters bite and carve a beautiful hole, and the plug comes out easily. It also includes the hex key for replacing the pilot bit. Not a tool I use a lot, but I’ve learned that buying the best tool brings the best results, and that means getting the job done the first time, which is always my goal. Works just as well in wood, and given that it’s designed for cutting steel, will probably last your lifetime if used just for wood.

Klein Tools makes quality tools and I own several. This carbide hole saw cutter is fantastic! I’ve used it several times working with sheet metals and the cuts have been clean and precise. Its design makes it look like it will last forever and paired with the quality of Klein tools, it have a feeling it will. The product description says it will cut holes in stainless steel, mild steel, iron, copper and brass sheet, I used it for thin steel.

Excellent hole saw cutter! Klein Tools makes great tools anyway! I own several of their tools and they are quality made and durable, and this carbide hole saw is no exception, it is tough durable and precision made and cuts fantastic. I am certain this tool will give me years of good use. I mainly work with wood but as a retired machinist I know this saw would work great on metals as well. Really nice little hole saw.

The Kline Carbide Tipped Hole Cutter is made of high quality steel.I was surprised it came with a Allen wrench and that’s a good thing,the Allen wrench is made of high quality steel also.This hole cutter is very sharp and will stay sharp as long as you keepit dip it in (thick) oil when you use it, you need to dip it in the (clean) oil about every 10 seconds when cutting in order to make the hole cutter last a long time. You don’t want to abuse it !

The 1-3/4 in. Carbide Hole Cutter is a well made tool like all of the Klein Tools. The tool is made of high quality cast steel for high strength and machined for accuracy. The teeth are carbide steel for long life and brazed for strength. It has a 1/2 inch shaft for strength. It comes with a double size carbide drill (5/32 inch to 1/4 inch) tip for easy centering and this tip will not get as hot as a single tip drill. It comes with a center spring for easy removal of the cutout. I hope this helps with your decision. Good luck with all your projects.

Cuts very good. I used on a non metal, concrete embedded surface and it did well. What i like is the pilot drill bit has a setscrew, and the wrench is supplied. the pilot is spring is removeable and adjustable making easier pilot bit changes. Supplied with its own hard case, not a blister pack, keeps it neatly stored in the bit drawer. I will use on sheet metal often, so it a nice addition.

Klein quality tools are the electrical trades choice . As an electrician and electrical contractor for 39 years Klein has been on my side ( literally in my pouch ). This 1-3/4 IN. CARBIDE HOLE CUTTER saves time when having to make conduit entry for 1-14 inch conduit. Beats using a knockout punch and definitely safer than a standard hole saw . You will appreciate the quality!

The 1-3/4 in. Carbide Hole Cutter 1-3/4 IN. CARBIDE HOLE CUTTER worked flawlessly in making the hole in a solid door that was custom built for my outside cellar access. Very high quality hole saw. Klein Tools rarely disappoints when it comes to the quality of their tools and this hole saw is a good example. The saw is carbide tipped for long life and the body of the saw is very heavy steel, not like the much cheaper made stamped steel hole saws that are available. This saw is made to last. Like all drill bits and hole saws lubricating the bit while cutting metal is a must. This hole cutter gives clean and true holes every time you use it.
