This arbor is essential to use a 7/8 inch hole saw that does not come with an arbor.

VERY GOOD PENETRATION AND ADAPTER WORKED WELL WITH SLIGHTLY LARGER HOLE SAW.

Worked nicely on the small diameter hole sizes and the adapter allowed me to use it on the larger sizes. The largest I used it on was 1 3/8″. Stayed tight. Good price.

Great for smaller hole saw use – you can’t go wrong with Klein products. It is the same as virtually all small hole saw arbors, and on clearance was even better. Grab some if you can find any left!

This arbor comes with a threaded 5/8″ adapter that is used with hole saws 1-3/8″ (35 mm) and larger in diameter.A different arbor catalog number 31906 with pins is recommended for hole saws 2″ (51 mm) and larger in diameter.Hole saws are engaged by screwing them onto the threaded portion of the arbor. The pilot drill bit included with this arbor is 1/4″ in diameter and is secured in place with a 1/4″ diameter set screw that requires a 5/32″ or 4 mm size Allen wrench. The drill shank on this arbor is 0.370″ hex shaped to provide positive engagement in a drill chuck. The manufacturer applied a sticker external to the plastic packaging with a picture of a drill 1/2″ (13 mm) as the suggested drill to use with the arbor.A 1/2″ drill is easier to use and control then some 3/8″ drills when boring large diameter holes because a 1/2″ drill can develop much higher torque at low RPM unlike some 3/8″ drills and also rotates at a lower RPM then 3/8″ drills.

sweet arbor set up the pilot bit is good and sharp it starts the hole without sliding off the mark. It also has a hex so that it is easier to hold while changing hole saw sizes and holds well in the drill chuck without slippage. There is a set screw holding the bit in place but it also makes it easy when you need to remove it for sharpening or replacement. It also comes with a adapter to fit larger hole saws.

This is the cheapest arbor I could find. I used it and the included 5/8″ adapter with a 2 1/2″ hole saw from Lenox and it fits and works perfectly. In my Home Depot in New Rochelle this item was in a separate Lenox display case section with electrical tools, instead of in hardware with the drill bits and hole saws. Note the aisle and bay number from this product listing or you may have trouble finding it.

This arbor conveniently comes with an adapter bushing to permit its use with more than one size hole Saw. Adjustment is provided for the relative “stick out” of the pilot drill (depending upon the depth of the hole saw used. The hex shaped shaft provides for a good “grip” in the drill motor chuck, to prevent slippage under load. This arbor was used with the adapter and a Klein hole saw.

This looked like a good idea when I first saw it. But after using it, I found some limitations. It works well with the smaller hole saws, and works better then the standard arbor in 1/2″ drill motors.. But it does not work as well with the larger size hole saws. You have to use an adapter with the larger hole saws. The adapter is too easy to misplace. The best way I have found to keep tract of it is to leave it in the hole saw. If you are using a 2″ or larger hole saw, that is easy – the hard part is getting the adapter out. The only way I have managed it is to use a large pair of slip-joint pliers to hold the hols saw, and a wrench to turn the adapter. To get the adapter off the arbor after using a large hole saw, you can at least use a pair of wrenches. In any case, you will need to remove the arbor from the drill motor to change hole saws.About the only benefit I can see to using this arbor is if you need to use a 1/2″ drill motor, and posibly when using hole saws 1-1/2″ or smaller. For the larger hole saws, get one of the arbors with the two pins that locks the hole saw in place, and doesn’t let it bottom out on the arbor.
