Great tool. Using it in school right now and I call it my “Spuddy Buddy”. Works great on the smaller size nuts and bolts (Crosby Clips) compare to using the 16 in. and can open up enough for the bigger bolts.

This wrench is great on tightening different size nuts. The wrench’s small size works great when you’re tightening connections in the web of a beam. Since its small, I can get more turns on each nut.

A combination tapered alignment pin and adjustable wrench, this spud wrench will allow you to line up bolt holes and then, after inserting the fastener, tighten the connection without having to carry a multitude of wrenches with you. Of forged steel construction, with an industrial black finish, the wrench portion will open up to 1 5/16 inches, while the tapered alignment shank goes from approximately 0.25 inches to 0.9 inches in diameter (over a 7 inch length). Overall tool length is 11 inches and a hole is provided for securing a lanyard (handy if working aloft). The knurled adjustment thumbwheel rotates around a pin which is screwed into the tool head, allowing for removal for cleaning or repair. Using the tapered handle to line up bolt holes will allow one to achieve alignment without elongating the holes (as could happen if trying to use a straight-shanked screwdriver, for example). The head of the wrench is NOT offset, as are some of the single size spud wrenches, precluding use in deep recesses. The only negative comment I have is that there was a raised burr on one of the jaws (see photos), quite possibly from being dropped prior to shipment, which prevented full closing of the jaw….nothing that couldn’t be corrected with a few judicious swipes with a file, but packaging commensurate with the quality of the tool would prevent this kind of damage.

Awesome made in the USA wrench. I use this for boiler work. It’s a tool of many uses and the black coating holds up well to water. Mind you I clean my tools after using and the occasional oil works wonders.
