Finding a multi-bit insulated screwdriver is not hard but finding one for small (#1 phillips and narrow flat blade) is not so easy to find. Klein has one and it fits my needs perfectly! Getting into tiny control terminals for DC wiring is difficult in itself, most of the time you can’t see the screw terminal then add insulation to the driver shaft, you might as well be blindfolded. So having the right size tip on the driver is important and it’s a real pain to keep up with a #1 phillips and narrow tip screwdriver. Klein fixed that with this flip-blade driver. It has a #1 phillips and a 3/16″ narrow blade screwdriver on the opposing end. Simply load it into the insulated handle and it’s ready for work. I love the spring loaded ejection; just a twist of the collar past the handle grip and the shaft ejects from the handle. It doesn’t eject with any kind of force, it just simply pops the shaft up from the locking mechanism in the handle. The handle is quiet comfortable – as with all Klein hand tools and the driver shaft and tips hardened for high torque applications. This is a very nice design in the miniature tip screwdrivers and being insulated is the icing on top!

This Klein Tools product is insulated and features a flip blade. One side is #1 Phillips and the other is 3/16 inch slotted. The #1 Phillips fit the cover screws on electrical box perfectly. The tips are nicely machined. To confirm the insulation properties of the blades I used a multi-meter. Tip to tip the meter read conductivity. However Tip to any orange coated surface the meter read no conductivity which is what one would expect to see. The screwdriver is rated to handle up to 1000V. The flip blade ejection mechanism on this screwdriver is nicely designed. Just rotate the collar a single click and the flip blade unlocks and pops up a bit. Pull it out, flip it over and slide it back in until it locks into place and you are ready to go. There are additional models available with different blade combinations and there is a blade pack that comes with a variety of blades.

My wife has a habit, like others, of using tools for other than their intended purposed. Such was the case when I left my electrical tool bag unattended and she needed to chisel something out. My insulated screwdriver was never the same. I got the Klein 2-in-1 Insulated Flip-Blade Screwdriver as a replacement. I am impressed with the quality of the product. More importantly, it more than serves the purpose of keeping an errant stab at a live circuit from using your body as an exit to ground. I’m a tool freak and my tool bag reflects that. The last thing I needed was another complete screwdriver set to weigh me down. Klein has taken a different approach in this manner by offering an insulated handle, paired with a changeable bit. It comes with a #1 Philips and a quick switch gives you a 3/16″ flat blade. The black collar you see in the photo is the release ring that holds the blade firm. An 1/8 turn in any direction releases the blade shaft so you can flip it over to the other end. The shafts are fully insulated also, so unless you are extremely careless, you can avoid unpleasantness around live circuits.Klein also has an expansion set that provides two more screwdriver sizes and a two square sizes. For little more than the space of a single screwdriver, you can have a complete set. Great idea!

this screw driver has a very nice grip, one where your hand wont slip loosing or tightening any screws,it is nice and light weight, the two driver bits are a straight and Phillips , to get to each bit all you do is flip it over and that’s all there is too it, to remove to switch, you have to twist this little wheel in the driver to unlock the bit, once removed, flip over and it will again lock into place. good product!

INSULATED to 1,000 VOLTS; SIMPLIFIES ELECTRICAL WORK — The 2-in-1 Insulated Flip-Blade Screwdriver, #1 Phillips, 3/16 in. Slotted is a welcome new product for anyone doing electrical work. The safety factor alone makes it a good investment. Having both Phillips and slotted screwdrivers in one tool means fewer tools to carry or a greater likelihood of having the type of screwdriver that you need. Just a twist of the dial at the base of the handle and the blade ejects. Easy. It is made in Slovenia.

The is an awesome insulated double screwdriver. It is fully plastic coated except for the very tip of each side. It has a philips tip and a regular flat tip. The bit is one piece that is reversible for the different ends. The handle is very well designed and comfortable to hold. The bits are nice full length that lock into the handle and only come out when you unlock it by twisting then base of the screwdriver handle. I highly recommend this insulated electrical screw driver.

TWO MAIN features set this screwdriver above others:1~ It’s insulated to protect against shock, and 2~ The shaft locks firmly in place but is VERY easy to flip or change! ( see my super short demo video! ) Like all the Klein tools I own, this lives up to their high standards of professional quality. During installations, Pros want to turn new screws neatly for nice-looking secure connections. During repairs, we sometimes have to remove old rusted screws. In both cases precision grinding of driver tips into solid strong steel makes a BIG difference. Klein screwdrivers qualify on all points. This has the same rubberized grip of other Klein screwdrivers. It makes turning easier, and the rubber they use is well-known for resistance to grease, dirt, and chemicals. The shaft sinks deeply into the super-tough polycarbonate handle. That delivers all your force without wasted energy. That also delivers optimum insulation against shock. Cheap drivers are OK for occasional household tasks, but Pros know quality counts because they use their tools daily. Even if you’re not a professional, quality tools reduce frustration because they just plain work better. If I had to pick ONE driver for my kit, this is it.

This electricians screwdriver has a reversible shaft with both Phillips and straight slot bits that are held in the insulated handle by an easily rotated, but secure knurled ring. One only has to rotate the ring about an 1/8th of a turn to release to holding mechanism, withdraw the sturdy non-metallic shaft and reinsert it into the handle. I find it veery useful in replacing outlets and plugs. It is of a good size and weight, and because it is not bulky, it easily allow s one handed operation. Please see photos.

Comprising a removable “Flip-Blade” Driver insert (with a #1 Phillips and 3/16-inch flat blade) in an insulated polymeric and elastomeric handle, provided with a quick release collar, this driver is rated for use up to 1,000 volts. The insert itself is insulated as well as the handle. The insert is spring loaded for ease of removing when the release collar is turned, though the spring can be a little too aggressive, resulting in “launching” the flip blade. Hopefully, the spring will become less strong with use as it is really not really needed in the first place. The retention feature prevents the undesirable detaching of the insert as can happen with ball-detent type retention. The end of the handle is marked “INS Multi” which will distinguish it from other tools in one’s tool pouch. This tool provides an extra level of protection in case one contacts and unexpected live circuit with the tool. I found the elastomeric grip comfortable, however, someone with a large hand may find the grip to be on the small side. Due to the size of the driver bits, this will more than likely be used for making terminations in close juxtaposition to other wiring, making the insulating feature quite desirable. A good addition to the tool arsenal.
