Like most Klein handtools, this ratcheting stubby screwdriver is well-designed and constructed. It allows you to ratchet either direction or lock it in the middle to have a fixed screwdriver. It has good weight to it and I have found it to be a nice addition to my toolbag

This 6 in 1 Ratcheting Stubby Screwdriver has become my favorite go-to tool! I keep it close by because I use it a lot for so many things. It includes #1 & #2 Phillips heads and 1/4″ & 3/16″ slotted tips screwdrivers, which are all pretty standard sizes. Also it has 1/4″ & 5/16″ nut drivers. All tips and nut drivers are interchangeable and are stored within the unit so they are always handy, but won’t get lost or misplaced. The ratcheting mechanism makes for fast completion of projects. Because it’s “stubby” it is closer to the job and gives me more control and helps me get it done more quickly. The handle is a nice round good sized ball that fits my hand comfortably. The yellow wheel on the screwdriver allows me to change the direction of the ratcheting mechanism by turning it 2 clicks left or right. The midde click allows me to use it as a non-ratcheting screwdriver. I have used this little, but efficient, well made screwdriver a lot. I love it!

This review is for the Klein 6-in-1 Ratcheting Stubby Screwdriver.I was granted an opportunity to try out the Klein Tools 32593 Ratcheting Stubby Screwdriver and I’m glad I took the opportunity! It has replaced two stubby screwdrivers in my “go-to” tool tote (one Phillips head, one straight blade). The Klein comes with two Phillips bits (#1 and #2), two straight blade bits (3/16” and ¼”) and two nut drivers (1/4” and 5/16”), and everything stores “on board”.The bits are reversible, as are the drivers – see photos below on how it works. The ratcheting feature can be set to forward, reverse, or locked-in-place (which turns the ratcheting feature off and turns the unit into a regular screwdriver). The bits are not, unfortunately, exactly the same design as comes with standard drill sets, etc. The bits have locking pins (actually they’re round, not pins) that secure the bits into the drive holder. This is great for keeping everything secure but not so great if you want to put in a bit from a different kit. The upside is that it’s unlikely that I’ll pull the screwdriver away and find the bit has been left in the work, which has happened to me with multi-tip drives that use magnets to secure the bits in the drive. As I noted I’ve replaced two screwdrivers with the single Klein – but the Klein actually outweighed them both together! Everything about the Klein is solid – all of the bits require a solid push to insert or a solid pull to remove from the drive holder. Even taking the drive holder out of the screwdriver takes a solid effort. I haven’t noticed any tendency for the Klein to strip bits, or for the ratcheting mechanism to fail. However, I tend to use multi-tip tools a bit more gently than a single purpose screwdriver and don’t put a ton of torque on them. I suppose it’s entirely possible to have a nut or screw that is secured so tightly that the torque required to remove it exceeds the torque level of the Klein ratcheting mechanism. If I’m up against a stubborn fixture, then I use a ‘regular’ screwdriver or reinforced nut driver. YMMV.The screwdriver (with bits inserted) measures three and ½” long and one and 3/8” wide. The handle is easy to grip even with slippery hands – the rubber allows a good grip, at least with my medium sized hands. The warranty supplied by Klein is against defects and workmanship; there is no time limit on the warranty that I could find. Of course “fair wear and tear” or product abuse isn’t covered (I take that to mean that I shouldn’t use the straight blade to open cans of paint, or pound on the handle with a hammer, etc.).The Klein is a welcome addition to my ‘go to’ tool tote.HTHRegards,Jim

Great little screwdriver. It has become my favorite. Especially useful on a boat with limited space in front of many screws. Ratches nicely, or not as desired. Nice feel to handle.

This is a potent little screwdriver, with more power than it looks like because of it’s handle head. The head is larger in proportion to its tip, yet the distance between them is very short, so there is some kind of physics at play that gives it more power. My high school physics teacher (and basketball coach) Mr. Brookshire would be very disappointed with me that I’d forgotten what property that was. In any case, a good turn of the head gives a powerful turn of the tip of the screwdriver on the screw. The only downside is that suffered by nearly all ratcheting devices. This small screwdriver has a good ratcheting mechanism, but until the screw is fairly tight, either going in or when it’s coming out, the ratcheting mechanism doesn’t work. This forces you to turn the screwdriver the old-fashioned way, by moving your hand back and forth. As I mentioned, most ratcheting tools have the same problem, so this one is no different.
