This 11/16-Inch Barrel-Type Drift Pin, is double tapered and well balanced. It feels great in your hand and has just the right amount of “heft” to it. I design and fabricate specialty equipment from scratch that usually has an over abundance of assembly and take down inherently involved in the prototyping process and my hand tools are almost always an extension of my hands, so balance and durability are important to me. That being said , this is a really good tool.

This is one of those tools you don’t appreciate until you actually need it. My father has tons of these but i had never gone out in search of one. I had been trying to drive a pretty difficult bolt out of its hole and was using everything i could think of with little success. Because this was steel and transferred all of my energy directly to the bolt it came out in no time, into the tool box this goes.

I’m always looking for something to line up holes, and this works so much better than a screwdriver. It is just the right length and feels solid in your hand. The tapering is great to hold the parts in place. The quality is that which I’ve come to expect from products sold by Klein. I would definitely recommend this product for all the do it yourselfers out there.

This Klein Tools 11/ 16 in. barrel-type drift pin is excellent to line up holes in many things from wood working, iron building, automotive, to many more uses. It also works good at holding heavy parts like motor mounts. It is strong enough to hit with a hammer to force parts together so that they can be lined up for bolts to go in. Klein always makes good quality tools!

Save your screwdrivers – invest in a couple of drift pins! When working solo on heavy car parts (suspensions, engine mounts, etc) I’m inclined to grab anything nearby to use to get holes lined up for reassembly. I have several mangled screwdrivers, center punches, etc to show for it. It took a while before I discovered there is actually a tool for that job. This 11/16″ drift pin is for the bigger jobs only, for sure. But it’s hard steel, with a smooth taper (on both ends), and my first use of it demonstrated it could stand up to a hard hammer whack. I will be picking up some smaller versions for my toolbox.

I have a ton of tools but never thought to purchase a drift before. There were many times that I would have align two parts ,like to put a bolt threw a hole with two parts and couldn’t align them Now that I have this drift, which is real beefy ! A few taps with a hammer on the drift and the holes magically align.. How many hours I ‘ve wasted building parts of machines and couldn’t get parts to line up. Great inexpensive item that you should not be without it !!

This is a very heavy duty drift pin. I was very surprised when I picked it up at the weight, it is very solid. But that shouldn’t have been a surprise, Klein always has great tools. The sides are relatively smooth so It slides easily in and out of the appropriately sized hole, but has enough of a texture to make it easy to grasp. I haven’t tested this to see how hard the metal is it is, but based on the weight it should take a lot of abuse.

After receiving this 11/16 in drift pin, I used it when attaching my snow plow to my truck. It helped a lot to align the mounting pins and I even used it to help pry the plow a little even though it was intended for that. The only thing that I would have liked was for it to be a few inches longer, however, it seems very heavy duty and held up very well to lots of hammering and prying.

Another excellent tool by Klein! This drift pin is super strong and made to last. This drift pin can be used to align any holes the pin will fit in, from woodworking projects, automotive applications, steel work, etc. I put this pin to the test with a 5lb sledge hammer. The pin didn’t mushroom out like cheaply made products do. This is another tool DIYers and professionals need to have in their toolbox.

This drift pin is absolutely wonderful. No more man handling heavy material to get predrilled holes to line up or using pry bars to wiggle the hole around. Just a matter of placing either tapered end of this drift pin in the holes and hammering it in. Lines the holes up perfectly, then it is just a matter of driving the pin out through the hole and placing your bolt in place. With both ends being tapered makes removal of the pin a breeze.
