   This is a very handy bit to have if you need to work with two-hole, security screws. It is well made and hardened so that it holds up well to applying torque to the screw heads. It has a spring loaded ball in the side at the middle to lock it in to the shank on a screwdriver, provided that the socket depth of the screwdriver shank is deep enough. It works well in one of my screwdrivers but is a bit too long to seat all the way to the ball in another screwdriver. In that one it does tend to fall out. I really like that both the #10 and #12 sizes are there in one bit. It’s much easier to flip the bit over when you’ve guessed the wrong size than to go digging for another bit.

   They work good, but I got in a hurry and made my own with an old screwdriver cut a notch in the middle of the blade with my dremmel tool!

   Once again I can appreciate the fine quality that Klein Tools provides. This convenient and reversible 10, 12 spanner drive bit fills a void in my tool selection and are hard to find elsewhere.They appear to be of a quality not usually found in others. I have not had the opportunity to actually use them for any length of time so I cannot attest to how well they wear. They do come with a warranty that is again, not usually found elsewhere.I also cannot find any other wording to suggest that these are not made in Chicago Illinois!

   There are more and more security type bolts and screws being for different devices. I have a set of these spanner bits but broke an ear off the #10. This one has both 10 & 12 which makes it handy. It snaps in and stays put. The quality seems to be better than what I have, so when replacing I will be looking for this brand to replace what I have if I break another.

   The SPANNER REPLACEMENT BIT works great. It works great with both sizes. (#10 and #12). It removes and tightens just like it’s supposed to. It doesn’t slip. The bit fits snugly into the tool perfectly. These replacement bits make it easy to replace a broken bit when you break one. I am very pleased with these replacement bits. I would greatly recommend them.

The are made of excellent quality harden steel and will last a lifetime.

   I ordered the “Spanner 10, 12 Replacement Bit” as a replacement. This is not a bit that I use everyday, but when I do need it I better have it or be prepared to do some drilling, grinding or damaging the surface. I test it and it works jut fine. One thing to keep in mind when using this type of bit is to be patient because if you force these screws in or out you will break your bit. I would avoid using an electric drill, the bit will last longer that way.

    Shortly after getting my 15-in-1 HVAC driver by Klein tools I realized I needed more bits. The SPANNER 10, 12 REPLACEMENT BIT by Klein tools is a perfect specialty bit for the work I do. As an experienced general maintenance and HVAC tech I appreciate the quality if Klein, Heavy duty and precision machined for a snug fit. I have had no issues to date.

    This two-ended bit is sized for 10 and 12 spanner screws and will fit into the Klein multi-bit screwdriver as well as most other multi-bit screwdrivers.These bits are of higher quality than lower-priced substitutes and should last longer because of that.Keep in mind that these are specialty application bits, not for standard slotted screws but for screws that are used for tamper-resistant reasons.

    This is a quality item that should last you a life time unless you are getting old like me and forget where you put the old one at. Home Depot had this item and the great thing about it is it fits into the 15 in one screwdriver handle so all that you have to do is slide it in the end of the handle and you are good to go. I ordered mine on line and the shipping was great and it was packaged in a professional manner.
