This cable splicer knife is a very useful little tool if you work with cable or any kind of coated wire really. I think the big advantage is that it is compact with a good solid short handle and the blade is thick and short. Nice leverage and you can slowly rock the blade back and forth for twisted cable or wire or slice around to remove sheathing. Good tool. Nice and sharp too.

Did not get this for the described purpose… Wanted to try the feel as a whittling knife! After a small amount of additional honing it has a blade you can really work wood with. I choose the knife for both the blade style (shape and short length) and the grip. Very please with the grip. Good choice!
