If you do a lot of running cables such as installing satellite systems or cable tv or even security cameras . I highly recommend this stapler. It is very heavy duty and can cut your time in half . just load and shoot and cables are done . The handle is a little hard to use at first but once you get use to it you will find this so much faster and easier to run loose cables

If they had the tool, they also should’ve carried the specific staples that go with the tool but they’re only available from Klein, Home Depot should stock these staples
Oren Haag (verified owner) –
Good stapler. The down side-Home depo had only one size staples in stock for it.

If you have ever been frustrated by trying to hammer in wire staples try the Klein loose cable stapler. It uses three sizes of insulated stables: 1/4″ (Cat 3/5 or speaker wire); 5/16″ (Cat 6, RG59) and 19/32″ (NM-B Romex 14-3, 14-3G,12-3). The 19/32″ staples can also be used for double runs of Cat 5, Cat 6, and/or RG59 cable. A label on the stapler also shows a 31/64″ staple which may be a fairly new offering. Before using the stapler on the job I tried it out on a test piece of pine simulating a wood joist or a stud. Like any new tool it takes a bit of practice before you figure everything out. However, after a few tries I was able to sink the staple completely. Be sure to set the cable guide on front of the stapler to match the width of the staple you are using.

This Klein cable stapler is a very heavy duty stapler for various types of cable, such as flat household interior electrical cable (Romex), coaxial cable (75 or 50 Ohm), as well as voice and data cable (CAT5 or CAT6). This stapler adjusts to four sizes of staples [1/4 inch (telephone), 5/16 inch (coaxial), 19/32 inch (data) and 31/64 inch (electrical)]. As you can see in the picture, the channel face protects the cable while you are stapling, and the staple guide adjusts for correct opening size to protect cable from accidental damage. Although the staples are sold separately, the side of the stapler has all the data on the Klein staples to use with this stapler, including the part number (see picture). Klein really designed this stapler very well. It has a cast aluminum body for years of use, and it even has a handy belt clip (see picture) for those situations where you don’t want to put the stapler down on a nearby object or surface or when you are working in an elevated location. I highly recommend this stapler – another great Klein tool!

As with anything there’s pros and cons. The biggest downfalls are frequent jams and handle strength. I’ve been playing with this and I am seeing frequent jams. I can’t quite identify a common cause for the jams. Sometimes with a full string but more often when there are only a couple staples left. It’s easy enough to remove the defective staple and keep going. The strength required to operate it is pretty high. It’s more than that of a standard staple gun. Hopefully that will relax after usage. This really is a game changer. One tool to attach cabling and allowing it movement is ingenious. It drives the staple in very well and the staples really bite well. No fear of them pulling out with normal cable movement. Very easy to operate. Very easy to load too. I really wish I had this when I re-routed all of the electrical wiring in my shop. This would have been much easier. It’s a good size for my large hands. I bought the Klein Tool’s package of staples to start with. They do have other sizes at my local Home Depot but I couldn’t find them online. There is also a less expensive brand but I wanted to give this stapler a fair chance without adding a different brand’s performance effect it. Overall, yes. I would buy it again and I recommend you do too

My Christmas lights will be happy! I have been using a regular staple gun to hang lights where no roof clips can be used, and the lines to those lights have been paying the price. I wasn’t aware that a cable stapler was an option until I started looking to replace my staple gun. This Klein is just what I needed. Beyond the obvious purpose of a cable stapler and the benefit of using the right tool for the job, this is a sturdy tool. I wear a men’s size large glove and it is at the limit of what I would call a comfortable reach. It doesn’t have any slop/play in the handle stroke, so if you have smaller hands this may not be the stapler for you. It has two adjustments. The first is on the nose and is a dual size selector for the size of staple you are using. The lower position tightens the feed channel (you will see it when loading staples) for 1/4” & 5/16” staples. The higher position is for 19/32” & 31/64” staples. The other adjustable option is a tension setting for controlling depth. Again, it is a simple 2 position lever. Staples are loaded by turning the staple gun upside down and laying them into the feed channel. The spring latch on mine is a bit finicky, but it seems to be loosening up as I work it more. It has a nice rigid belt clip that can be used on either side of the tool. It is nice to have the option to pick the side that suits me for the task at hand.I didn’t see much difference in the tension setting. Neither drove the 1/4” staples I was testing flush to the 2”x4”. I attached a picture of the results. I think the material that I drive these staples into is going to be the bigger factor than the tension setting. I am happy that neither setting crushed the staples, as that would defeat the purpose of using this vs. a standard stapler and staples.

This is so much better than the typical hand stapler. It can use a much deeper staple designed for an electrical cable as well as regular staples by the flick of a switch. The deeper staples will hold cables secure without any chance of pinching . It also uses a reverse handle providing more force to the action. There is a sturdy belt loop which can be changed to the opposite side if desired.

I absolutely love this tool. I used it to secure romex directly to the ceiling drywall. I stapled two complete boxes for this project, including some stapling to the ceiling joists. The finished job looks fantastic, couldn’t imaging how long it would have taken me to screw in wire supports.

This Klein Stapler makes fast easy work for stapling up cables and wire. It has a good mechanical advantage in the handle design so you can use it longer without tiring.

It only penetrates very soft underlayments. The number of staples that didn’t “stick’ are about 25%.
