When I ordered this standard 2 1/2 inch adjustable wench, I was surprised when it arrived. For some reason I didn’t know that I was getting a pipe wrench.Once I started using it, it was easy for me to use. The jaws are easy to adjust. When I used in on my well installation, it made loosing and tightening fittings easy. If the one plumbing was stuck, this large wrench handled them with ease. My only drawback is that it is quite heavy.

Professional quality wrench for serious work. BIG yet right-priced. Well made, should last a lifetime.I own many adjustable wrenches. This one compares well to my favorites, some made a long time ago when mechanics lived by their wrenches. This one works smoothly, is very well-finished on the working surfaces and smooth all over, kind to the hands. This type of adjustable wrench has been around over a century, Johansson 1892 and Peterson 1915. Works just as good today as it did for our grandfathers. One correction: while this is sold as up to 2-1/2 in, mine opens to 2-7/16 inch. This wrench is made in Spain. Not Chicago, not China. In the last 30 years Spain has been building on its traditional strength in metal-working. Spain is now strong in machine tools and auto production, and the tools to support those industries. Workers in Spain enjoy collective bargaining with court oversight, no sweat-shops. Look-up “Irega Manufacturing” to see videos of a modern Spanish tool factory.

Nice wrench. A bit heavier and bulkier than may be necessary, but it’s a quality piece. The tolerances are reasonably tight, though with little effort a company like Klein should be able to remove most of the play from the lower jaw. But the adjustment screw is the smoothest I’ve felt. Perfect balance, well made and nice feel to the handle. The jaws stay at set opening, no lazy travel.

Klein does it again with another professional tool that is a well-made and capable wrench for any big job. With a 15″ overall length and 1-11/16″ jaw capacity this can tackle any large bolt, nut, or similar. The forged design is sturdy but not too heavy, and the jaws open and close smoothly without sloppiness. The handle seems slightly tapered so you may be able to use a cheater bar, but not sure. Overall a highly professional tough wrench, this is the real deal!

If Crocodile Dundee were a plumber, he’d likely say, “Now that’s a wrench!” This thing is huge. The fit and finish are top notch, even in a tool that has been scaled up to enormous as has this beast. I concentrated my efforts on measurements for the wrench since it’s size may crucial for certain applications. Here are all of the dimensions I measured.2 1/2 in inside jaw opening 2 1/2 in depth on long side of jaw2 3/8 in deep on other leg of jaw1 1/8 in thick at base of jaw3/4 in thick at tapered ends of jaw1 1/4 in thick at thickest part of entire tool5 7/8 in wide with jaw fully open23 13/16 in full length5/8 in round opening for hanging tool

Wow! This is a great tool for the BIG jobs! love its ease of adjustment and the size really makes a difference with using on the Big projects! love its monster size for giving me leverage and also grips nicely to the bolt or nut for getting a bite on it and using my strength . Great addition to my tool collection and seems like it will be tough enough to handle the big jobs.

This is a nice heavy-duty adjustable wrench. The build quality is excellent. The jaw opens to 2 1/2 inches. For larger nuts and bolts, this wrench is excellent in order to handle a variety of nut/bolt sizes without needing to bring a set of huge sockets. The jaw does not wiggle within the wrench head. I like the precision fit of the jaw into the wrench so there isn’t play as the jaw is adjusted from completely closed to its widest opening. That is something I see in cheaper small adjustable wrenches. The adjusting wheel of the wrench is also fit tightly into the wrench so there isn’t play while adjusting the jaw width. There is a hole at the handle end of the wrench to hang the tool while in storage.Chrome plating is nice throughout.I’ve taken photos with a see-though ruler so you can see the dimensions of the wrench head and jaw. Total length of the entire wrench is a bit under 24 inches. This wrench is ideally suited for use in an industrial/commercial capacity, but also is suited for use by the DIY person or contractor who works on home, farm, construction, plumbing or motor vehicle repair projects.

1-11/16 in. Standard Capacity Adjustable Wrench I have had this a couple of weeks it is a crescent wrench they are the best in my option for adjustable wrenches. It is well made and a size that if needed will do the bigger jobs like the nut on the trailer ball. I would recommend this to a friend. I currently have multiple sizes and love them. Would buy again.

Yes, this is a big, heavy adjustable wrench which weighs in at 8 lbs.. It’s 24 in long with a nicely tapered handle and will take nuts and bolts upto 2-1/2 in. capacity. This is the largest wrench that I have in my collection and I hung it up near my tool boxes because It won’t fit in the drawer. Yep. excuse to get a new 72″ tool cabinet because I also have several other large tools stored on the floor. This wrench is nicely forged high quality tool steel made in Spain for Klein Tools. I like this matte chrome finish on this tool as it looks good and has a nice feel. The worm drive thumb adjustment screw and gear teeth are precision machined without any sloppiness slack. This is a proud tool in my collection. My only gripe is what big tools cost.

This adjustable wrench is a nice size. I have a few smaller and medium size adjustable wrenches and I even have a 24 inch with a max opening of 2-1/2 in. So, this 15 inch with an opening of 1-11/16 is a good addition to my tool set. The jaw is well machined, with smooth surfaces. The jaw closes with a perfect fit. I mention this as some of the cheaper wrenches are not as well machined. It appears to be of good quality material, but until I use it on a difficult fitting or bolt that requires high torque I will not know for sure. It has worked great on the less difficult jobs that I have used it for. The 24 inch is too heavy for some jobs and the 12 inch is too small for my needs on some jobs. The 15 inch is a good size and weight for the in-between jobs. I am pleased with the size of this 15 inch 1-11/16 inch Adjustable Wrench.

Let me start this review by saying that I do not use this wrench for large nuts. I use it mainly for plumbing fittings. It is great for things like 1″ copper NPT to sweat fittings, as well as things like black iron unions. It tends to work better then a pipe wrench for these fittings, and doesn’t leave marks on them. This is a hefty wrench. You can use two hands on it and really crank down on it if you need to. The jaws adjust smoothly, and have almost no play in them. I have seen more play is “bargain” 12″ wrenches. If you need a wrench for larger nuts, as well as plumbing fittings, this wrench will do a good job.

Before I got this wrench, the largest crescent I had was 1-3/4 opening. I can not remember how many times, I wish I had a larger opening jaw. This isn’t a wrench I use every day but when I need something bigger and do not have it on hand, it is frustrating. At work, it is important to get things repaired quickly. This thing is a little bulky and heavy but it does the job on many things from plumbing to heating. If you can get the jaws around it, this wrench will give you the horsepower to do the task. The jaws move smoothly and have no wobble. Great tool.

The Klein 15″ adjustable wrench is exactly the tool I needed. It is easily adjusted and does not slip during use. It is large enough to be used and stored on my tractor. It also allows me to carry a few less wrenches than I normally would have. It appears to be a pretty good quality tool that I can use for many tasks and it’s handle fits my hand nicely. I have used it to loosen some good sized nuts and it handled it without a problem.

I own about 2 dozen adjustable wrenches from large 3 in jaws(tractors) down to small 1/2 size jaws(bikes). Most of these I’ve had for 50 yrs and a few were foreign junk no-brand boat anchors. I love high quality tools. Almost any tool with the Klein brand is high quality. This medium large Klein wrench is well made with good quality steel forged in Spain. I like the matte nickel finish which looks nice compared to polished chrome and the slim handle is a good feature too. To me the jaws are a bit too chunky making it a tight squeeze in some spots. My finest wrenches have better engineered, smaller contoured, profile jaws, but must be superior, high strength tool steel to do it(Craftsmen). At the price level of this Klein tool its steel should be of superior quality too and I don’t see it. Now, compare this wrench to a same sized Crescent or Milwaukee at 40% savings and you will understand my fair rating.

I’ve owned probably a dozen or more adjustable wrenches over the years but never one as well-made as this 1-11/16 by 15 inch Standard Capacity Adjustable Wrench made by Klein Tools. The machine work and finish of this wrench is outstanding and it opens and closes as smooth as butter. Even the tapered shape of the handle bespeaks the extra thought that went into its design. I’ve included a photo of one of my old standard adjustable wrenches next to this one so you can see the difference in their quality. While this wrench is more expensice than your average adjustable wrench, its high quality should last a lifetime of use. Unlike most wrenches that are made in China these days, this is made in Spain.

Klein does it again. This is a solid wrench. The only wish on my list is that I wanted the mouth to expand beyond the beyond the 43mm mark. It holds position very well. I plan on using it to change out some over-oxidized handles on my water meter. 15 inches gives you great leverage when you need to torque an object down. What you can’t notice by simply looking at it, is that is has really good grip and is really ergonomic for your hands whether you choose to wear gloves or not.

The name KLEIN TOOLS is synonymous with high quality professional grade tools and this adjustable wrench is no exception. It is forged from strong, heat-treated steel alloy for exceptional strength. It has an overall length of 15 7/8” with a jaw capacity of 1 11/16”. I found the jaws move easily and smoothly with a nicely machined knarled adjustment screw drive. What separates this high quality wrench from others, ultimately, is not only the materials and machining quality but the precision with which the jaws operate. For maximum grip, the jaws need to maintain contact with the entire surface area on parallel sides of a nut when engaged. The adjustable jaws on this wrench stay perfectly parallel to one another throughout its range of motion delivering that maximum grip. Please see attached pictures where I’ve highlighted this point. If you need one of the very best adjustable wrenches available, you need not look further than this KLEIN TOOLS adjustable wrench.

This is one big mamba jamba adjustable wrench – 24 inch size, 2.5 inch jaw capacity. I have an 18 incher and wasn’t quite sure what I would do with one this big, but found it useful to counter hold a big plumbing fitting that I needed to tighten up. I like that the jaws are nicely machined and are very flat and parallel. It has a hole at the end of the handle to attach to a tether if needed. It is marked as Made in Spain. The only thing it doesn’t have that would be nice is scale markings to see what size the jaws are set to. not a big deal of course.
