If you’re doing remodel electrical work, then this tool is for you. I had to pull a wire from an existing overhead light to a junction box where the mirror lights will be installed. This tool allowed me to drill upward into the attic, attach my wire to the drill bit, and pull the drill bit and wire back out of my new jbox hole. The hardest part was getting the flimsy little hook from the puller to stay hooked to the bit. That’s the tiny flaw I had mentioned. It was a major time saver since the wall I had to pull into was an outside wall with insulation. Also, since it was an outside wall, there was no overhead room to drill from the top down because the roof meets the wall. All in all, I’m totally satisfied with how this worked. At over fifty dollars, the hook attachment should have been of higher quality is all.

I purchased this kit and was able to drill through three ceiling joists to run some wires for recessed lighting in my kitchen. My one piece of advice is to make sure you can attach whatever you want to pull through the hole before you actually do it. The hole in the end of the drill bit is pretty small and doesn’t connect easily to the “chinese finger trap” that is supplied. I didn’t realize this until I had drilled through the joists and was trying to connect the trap to the drill through a small hole in the ceiling (where I couldn’t see and didn’t have use of two hands). After three failed attempts, I finally ended up using some wire to connect from the bit to the romex that was being pulled and that worked.

Great tool for hard to get to areas to run wire. Highly recommended. It could be a bit more flexible…

The drill bit does the job my only complain is that the sharpness didn’t last.

The thing that angles the bit worked amazing, it kept the bit from riding up. Had to adjust the handle as the bit drilled through joists. My only complaint was the wire basket was too big to grab the 14-2 and we couldn’t get the clip from the basket, hooked onto the bit! Tried and tried to no avail…. so I just used a bare piece of 14 AWG, hooked it to the pulling basket and bit, and pulled my cable through with the bit while still attached to the drill. Great product overall.

The guide handle would cut/score the shaft of the drill bit so I ended up just using my hand to guide it. The wire puller would pull the wire except the clip did not clip into the end of the drill bit as advertised otherwise yes it’s saved me a lot of sheetrock work

Somewhat expensive but a lifesaver if you need it. Be careful though, the bit will drill into everything which can be dangerous when blind drilling through ceilings!

I wish the clip on end of mesh wire sleeve would have a different design…i find it difficult to attach to flex bit in real life fishing incidents… i find myself replacing the clip for just some bailing wire.

Worked great. Definitely go with this diameter or larger to run cable lines with the ends intact.

I had never heard of or used this product. I needed to fish wires to and from my basement and was ready to pay an electrician. The bit effectively goes through about anything and comes out where you aim it. Then you simply attach what you’re snaking and reverse the bit to bring through the wiring. A job I planned would take hours for an expert took a few minutes, Works like magic.

Excellent product for running new cable in existing walls. The guide handle included in the kit makes it so much easier to make sure you’ll be drilling through the top/bottom plate of the wall. As usual, Klein Tools made an excellent tool that works great. I would recommend this to anyone!

Works great drilling through 4 joists to run a 14-2 romex from an existing gang box to a new round light fixture gang box.
