NICE tool! clip on is strong. The flashlight is BRIGHT! brighter than the length of the magnetic pick up. The pick up is about 2 feet long and the last 5 inches have flex coil and the magnet can be pointed directionally. All folds up into a nice tidy 10 inch fairly heavy tool. Came with batteries and is a bright light-blinding at 20 feet straight at the eyes. The battery replacement tray requires a P1 screwdriver and plus is it never falls open. Minus is that you need a screwdriver to open it.Debate continues.

This thing is awesome. Anyone who has dropped a screw or nut or bolt behind an appliance or in the engine bay of a car knows the value of a good telescoping magnetic pick up tool.I have a cheap, small, flimsy ‘pocket’ version that works for small screws, but it isn’t very long, can’t hold much more than an ounce, and doesn’t have a flashlight. This Klein pick up tool is super heavy duty, extends to over 28″ in total length, and has a neat 3″ flexible section at the tip. The magnet is incredibly strong–I was able to suspend a 10″ crescent wrench by just the tip of the wrench, which is incredible. The built in flashlight is a nice touch. A small rubberized power button makes it easy to turn on and off while holding the cool, and projects a bright, tight focused beam. The tool has a large flat metal belt clip on the back, and the entire tool is covered with a rubber outer surface. This is a serious, beefy, tool that is really well designed and well made. With that said, since this is primarily a magnet, this is a somewhat bulky tool, considering what it is. It is great for the toolbox or tool bag, but probably not something you would carry around on you all day unless you actually need to use the magnet regularly. However, because it has the flashlight, it might be a good EDC flashlight that just happens to have a magnet. This is a really well designed, well made, rugged, professional tool.

I have a telescoping magnet, but as heavy-duty as this one. This magnet will pickup heavy wrenches and tools. The day after I got it, I was working on my truck and dropped a ¾” wrench, it picked it up easily. The light is an added bonus because it gives you one hand free. The LED is bright and always pointed where you need it. The belt clip is handy to clip on a pocket or fits nicely in a tool caddy or bag.

This tool is great for picking up steel items that fall in hard to reach places like behind the couch or behind the tool bench. There is a bright light to help see, so you don’t have to hold an additional flashlight. The end is flexible, so the angle of the magnet can be adjusted slightly to reach around corners. Please remember that coins do not contain enough iron to be picked up by this tool.I received this telescoping magnetic LED pickup tool for free to write this review.

The Klein Tools Telescoping Magnetic LED Pickup Tool is a well thought out heavy duty version of the pickup tool. Its both a magnetic pickup tool and a light source which is often needed in tight dark spots to retrieve small parts and tools. I’ve owned several pickup tools over the years even one that had a three prong grabber on the end instead of a magnet. Pickup tools are a time saver when working with small fasteners like bolts or nuts that slip and falls into recess spaces. Besides wasting time it can be terribly frustrating distracting you from the job at hand to get them out. A grabber end is fine for small screws and nuts, but a magnet is more practical and a heavy duty one like here is ideal. This one has a strong magnet that can hold two pounds so it’ll handle small dropped hand tools, too. The Klein tool is 22-inches long extended with the telescoping rod and has an articulated end to better position the tool head to grab. It uses an LED light powered by two AAA batteries and casts a wide enough circle of bright light to follow the tool’s end. The handle is rubber like material covered and is water resistant. It all collapses nicely down to stowaway in your toolbox or can be clipped to a belt. The tool is not as small as others go I’ve seen. Fully closed is almost six inches long. It would have been nice if it had a snap on mirror attachment to use as an inspection tool to see up under things like for HVAC or engine work. Klein makes good tools and this one is not some cheap knockoff, but well thought out to do the job well and last.

The TELESCOPING MAGNETIC LED PICK UP TOOL by Klein tools is a must have in everyones toolbox. I have always been a fan of Klein tools because they make a quality tool. And they didn’t disappoint me with their telescoping magnet. It has a heavy rubberize outer shell that just feels good in your hand and they added a belt clip and a light. You just know this tool will still be around 10 years from now. The light pinpoints the magnet so you can find that screw that rolled under the table. Over the years I have managed to drop a lot of screws and nails and this Klein magnet gets a thank you from my back.

The Klein new Telescoping LED Pickup Tool Lights the way. If you every dropped a tool in your engine compartment you know how handy a magnetic pickup tool can be. Add a properly placed LED light on that same tool with a 2 lb. magnet you can’t lose. The telescoping arm extends 22 inches and has a stiff flexible gooseneck end to help retrieve the dropped part or tool. The pickup tool has a belt/pocket clip for easy storage and access.I have had the tool for a couple of weeks and find that I really like the light and flexible gooseneck where the magnet attaches. This Klein pickup tools is superior to other similar tools I’ve had in the past.

For $25 this Telescoping Magnetic LED Pick Up Tool is a little pricey. It is only rated to pick up 2 lbs. I bought one that was rated to pick up 16 lbs and was about half the price. (No flash light) With the strong magnets that are out there today there is no reason why this one couldn’t have a stronger magnet.

Ever lost a screw in the grass? Dropped a hand tool in a spot you can’t get your hand into; or don’t want to put your hand into? This has a 22 inch reach from the bottom of the handle to the magnetic tip which is usually long enough to get between tool boxes (or under them) without moving them. It will pick up 2 pounds and has a led light (2 AAA batteries – replaceable) to light your way. One year my garage was so infested with black widow spiders that I didn’t put my hand anywhere that wasn’t wide open so i could see if there was a widow lurking for me. I sure could have used this instead of a long stick to retrieve what I dropped.

This is one of those tools that you will be very glad that you have when the need arises. I have had several of the old style magnetic pick-up tools in the past but none of them had an integrated light and none of them had such a strong magnet. The light is well aimed and very bright. The last couple of inches of the extension is flexible and can be bent into a curve or whatever shape you need. The magnet will pick up heavy items, I was surprised that it easily picked up my large vice grips (see photo). High quality from Klein Tools as usual!

Klein has done it again. Why didn’t I think of this? This is a great tool combination. A BRIGHT LED light and a telescoping magnetic pickup tool. Plus a sturdy pocket clip to keep it where it belongs when you aren’t using it.The magnet pick-up says 2 pound pick up but I think that is low but I can’t say for sure. Better yet is the flexable end to reach around corners when necessary.Topping things off, the 2 AA batteries are included. This is a small tool that can make a big difference in how your day goes on the job or in the shop.
