Klein Tools’ durable LED headlamp gives you bright, all-day light on either the bright spot setting or the lower, wide-casting flood light setting. Removing this hard hat lamp for recharging is easy; just slide the lamp out of the bracket on the silicone strap — no need to remove the strap from your hard hat. You’ll know when it’s time to recharge the lamp, because the LED lights on the battery gauge clearly indicate how much battery you have left. This headlamp also features new auto-sensing technology that turns off the unit after three minutes in bright light saving battery, and a little embarrassment.
- Headlamp automatically turns off after 3 minutes in bright light via auto-sensing technology, extending battery life (feature can be disabled by holding the power button for 10 seconds)
- Light can be easily removed from bracket for recharging
- Battery gauge indicates level of battery life with colored LED lights
- Slim profile with pivoting mount to allow up to a 64° lighting angle
- Smartly designed headlamp bracket also attaches directly to Klein hard hats (skus equipped with bracket system)
- Silicone strap stays securely on a hardhat
- Rechargeable via micro-USB port (cable included)
- Durable headlamp: drop-test rating of 10 ft., dust and water resistant
- Spotlight: 200 Lumens, 12 hour runtime
- Floodlight: 100 Lumens, 22 hour runtime

The Klein headlamp has a super-bright spotlight mode, which is a relatively narrow focused beam, and a less-bright floodlight mode, which casts light at a wider angle all around. The box seems very durable and well-suited to places where it can take a beating. The charger is a micro-USB, so the same one used for Android phones. There is an auto-off feature, where the light turns off automatically if it is bright light (very bright, like direct sunlight) for more than a few minutes. The push-button power switch turns the light on, switches from spotlight to floodlight mode, and then turns it off (if you push it in succession). The only thing I don’t love about the light is the strap. It’s a grippy rubber strap, about 1″ wide, that would be great on a smooth hardhat but not so good on a non-smooth hat or directly on your head. Overall, it’s a solid headlamp that seems well suited to construction sites, mines, or caves (as a former caver, I wish I’d had this a few years ago!).

This light was everything I needed and it being rechargeable only makes it better. Saves so much money.

The Klein rechargeable auto on/off headlamp arrived very quickly, intack with all pieces in a blister pack. I selected it because it is a Klein and it is rechargeable. I like that rechargeable feature. It saves on battery costs. I use it while repairing and working on equipment/appliances and when I need a lamp because it is dark. The quality is excellent. Easy to use. It’s working out as planned and I like it.

I have several headlamps that claimed that they could be used on hard hats but were easily dislodged or not very bright. I really like that this one stays on and that it is easily removable without having to take the band off of the hard hat. Even better is that it is rechargeable and comes with an USB cable for charging. It has a center light that is very bright and can be switched to less bright side lights. Even though it would have used up the power faster, I would have liked that you could use all 3 lights at once.

First off, the headlamp itself appears well made and is sturdy. Super bright, pure light. And seems like it can take a beating from being on your head, hat or hard hat (the silicon strap is designed for hard hats). It is also water resistant, can pivot to 90 degrees downward from flush against your hat with enough points in between to get the beam direction just about perfect, has a spotlight and area light setting, and comes with a usb charger. Finally, it has lights which indicate charging, low battery, and finished charging. My one concern about the lamp itself is with the piece that secures it to the band and allows it to ratchet while pivoting using a tooth traveling across a partial gear at the base. The tooth seems like it could wear from repeated adjustments. This concern may be unfounded. The material is flexible and doesn’t feel cheap, so perhaps it won’t wear. More importantly, it does seem to hold the position well. Not once has it shipped to a different setting or sagged due to weight of the lamp body. The charging aspect leaves some room for improvement. First, it can take hours to full charge, according to the packaging. Second, the usb cable it comes with is so short, it’s almost unusable if you are charging at an outlet or in your vehicle. It also only charges at USB 2.0 ports on your laptop. Third, it doesn’t come with an adapter for charging at an outlet. On the positive side, it seems like it should last most of the day and can be topped off at night. It claims it can be used for 12 hours before requiring a charge, which I find to be accurate.Overall it’s a very good almost great package and a bright, sturdy lamp that should last a long time. Recommended.

The hinge that allows adjustments for an angled position of lighting is much looser than I would like.It takes little movement for the light body to fall forward from the clip that holds it on the hard hat.My concern is that over a period of time the hinge will become looser with use.For an investment of $40+ for a head lamp I had hoped for a better built product. No complaints with the luminaries, provides adequate illumination.

Over 9 hours and still bright.Rechargeable lights are much better than batteries. I like the confidence of a charged and bright light rather than having half used batteries go dead.Hold down the power button to see the status of the battery. The light is removable if you don’t want to use the strap.I received this RECHARGEABLE AUTO-OFF HEADLAMP for free to write this review.
