I am using the tool to install ground leads in metal electrical boxes. Once the hole is drilled the tool easily puts threads in the box for the screw.

Lighter than the older previous model, which decreases overall weight of your tool belt! Handy, slick, and simple in appearance.

Product was excellent and was a gift. However the store delivery envelope was almost destroyed and narrowly missed damaging the contents! This is the 3rd item from Home Depot I have had trouble with. The first was a BBQ that had been used, returned and never checked. The other was a steel shop wall

More than easy to use. I recommend oiling the tap when using it. It will clean and smoothen the usage. Also, like any tap tool,. Unscrew 1 turn before continuing to ensure that you do a clean tap.

Love this tool because so many times I come across damaged threads that I’m not able to replace switches or receptacles. It’s a time saver and money!!

Currently in my job as a data cable installer, I pull cable, most often through the ceiling, to various locations in office and hospital areas, and sometimes have a hard time screwing in the wall plates for the wall boxes left for us and our cables by the electricians (not their fault, they do good work). Sometimes the threads in the wall box are less than perfect, and in the worst case, the screws for the wall plate covering break off in the wall box when using a battery drill to screw them in, which results in a long process to remove the broken screw. This tool, especially with it’s assortment of tapping sizes, can remove the problem of a broken screw and save a lot of time. As soon as resistance is happening when trying to put in a screw, I can stop, back it out, use this tool to clean out the threads, and then finish installing the wall plate. This is a great time saver. And the best thing is that is the tool breaks, it will be replaced for free at Home Depot, same with Klein snips (they have a few varieties of scissors, commonly called snips). A real time saver when you run into trouble. And since it has 6 different threads for tapping, it can work for fixing threads for rack-mounted equipment, which in broadcast tv is commonly 10/32, but in data, can vary a little, and this tool can do all of them. Worth ordering for ship to store if not in stock, as was my case.

Must have when working on older electrical boxes. Threads get screwed up at times and this tool at least for me has repaired the threads for me every time I needed. Good tool to have on hand just in case to fix those threads. Better than having to replace a box for a bad thread.

Just what I needed for those boxes that are caked with sheetrock mud and plaster.

Klein is a top quality product. Home Depot had a good price on this tool..

I wish I could just buy the replacement taps instead of buying a new tap every time. Gets a little costly.

You can always have to drill out and retap metal boxes when replacing outside lighting fixtures

First off, if one of the taps on this thing ever breaks, just buy a whole new tool unless you can find the right tap sizes at a store. With shipping and handling, you’ll pay more for 2 new taps than for the whole new tool. That being said, this thing is in every electrician’s toolbag. It has all 4 of the common sizes you ever use on an electrical job in 1 convenient tool. The other guy that wrote a review is thinking this is a Klein 6 in 1 screwdriver, not a tapping tool. Klein only makes 6 tap sizes for their tapping tools.

The device is excellent for quick drilling and tapping. There are six hole and tap sizes in one tool, which is all done by hand, allowing full control of the work.

If you have the ability to hold this straight – especially using 6-32 thread- it is a must have for fixing crossed threads. Klein has been supplying electricians tools for decades. They are top of the line.
