I’ve always been fond of Klein brand tools particularly for electrical work. I purchase this for a specific job I was doing which required cutting 3 O copper cable. I was unable to make the cuts using this tool. I was sure I’d have the leverage as this is the largest tool available at HD. I ended up using an ordinary pair of bolt cutters to complete the job, gave me a clean cut with little effort. I ended up returning this tool. My apology to Klein but this tool just didn’t CUT it.

Great for cable cutting but it needs to be longer for an more easier cut But for the most there great

Expensive for a cable cutter. Bolt cutters are 1/3 of the cost of this item. That said this was a high quality tool. So I guess you get what you pay for. I only needed them to cut a lock cable off a bike when the key was lost.

Did the job in short order for me. Had to extend a battery cable. Cut right through with NO effort.

I bought it for cutting large subpanel feeder wires. Is easy to use and cuts cleanly. Perfect for cutting solid wire or stranded. Fits nicely into my tool box.

Great cutter. I use it to cut some 3/0 aluminum wire. Before I found this tool I was using a grinder to cut through it but this thing cuts it like butter!

We are working on a job requiring 4/0 copper cable in it by the buildings engineer. This is some large copper and is at the extent of this tools ability requiring two strong arms to cut it. It does the job and is no worse for the wear even after weeks of use. If you need to cut cable this is a good tool.

We bought this to cut 2/0 Copper, 4/3 and 12/2 MC Cable. It cuts great for 12/2 MC but when you go to cut 2/0 copper and 4/3, it is hard to cut with the short arms that the cutters have and it gouges the cable. The metal was pitted from the first cut and we had to put pvc on it to extend the arms out just to be able to cut the 2/0 copper. If you are going to cut anything bigger, I suggest getting them with longer handles.

I was preparing my house for sale when I discovered some abandoned wiring in the basement. It was the line for the old electric stove so it was fairly thick and thicker then anything I had to cut it with.A quick search found me this product, it was available at my local store so I purchased it and went to town on the wire. It was like a hot knife through butter.

I used this cutter to cut 00 copper wire. Only had to make about 10 cuts but it worked great. I would recommend finding a place that rents cutters like this if you don’t expect to use it all the time. An expensive tool for only using it once. But I certainly recommend it if you think you’re going to use it on a semi regular basis.
