Love Klein tools have been using for years and years as an Electrician. This new High-Leverage Cable Cutter is pretty much just like my old ones (after 25 years use) needed to get a new pair. Tried them out and the new ones do cut much better than the old ones, so am really glad to have ordered the new ones. Good for up to 2/0 copper wire and 4/0 aluminum wire. Try them you will love them.

Cut everything as needed. Only complaint about design is its kinda tricky to use if you have small hands since the design of them cause the handles to be very far apart for starting most gauge cuts.

The Kkein Tools high-leverage cable cutter arrived quickly. Secured in a blister pack and inside a carton. I chosed this tool because I needed a heavy duty cable cutter and Klein makes top notch tools. (I have some of their hand tools from the 70’s and still use them frequently. I like the size of it. Not too big but effective. The specific feature is the handle’s grip and feel. Comfortable. I use it for romex and more cutting. The quality is excellent! Easy to use. It’s working out (cutting easily). I like it a lot

This tool makes short work of some tough jobs and will save your hands. I had some pretty good cable cutters already from a quality manufacturer. But they were not of this size. So I expected this to make the job easier. And it certainly did not disappoint. I started off by trying it on some 10 ga solid copper wire with thick insulation. It cut that like hot butter. It cut it so clean I was able to cut it into very thin wafers (i.e. 1/16 inch wafers) without any distortion of the insulation. So I decided to try it on something a lot tougher since that wire was child’s play. I have a roll of direct burial electric fence leader wire left over from putting in a fence that I occasionally use a piece of. To give an idea it is stiff enough you can make good hangers for things out of it. It has a thick tough outer layer and the core is solid, not stranded steel (not copper but steel). This wire is a two handed cut with most cutters. And even with some other high leverage cutters I had it takes a hard squeeze. With these it was an easy one handed cut. I even tried it left handed. Easy. It was easy enough I could cut with one hand while taking a picture. So to take it a bit further I put 2 pieces of the wire in there. I was still able to cut it easily with one hand. And it did not build up pressure and snap sending pieces flying like some cutters. It just slid through and the pieces fell gently to the side. And I don’t have anywhere near the grip I once did at close to 60 years old. If you have some tough cutting to do these will save a lot of wear and tear on your hands. And there is one last feature I like – they are made in the USA. You don’t see much of that these days.

I use the Klein Tools High-Leverage Cable Cutters mostly for 6 gauge and lower wire. It defiantly requires less force to cut than my other cutters, which I am very thankful for. I have tried them on 2/0 copper and was easily able to cut it with one hand. The jaws are designed in such a way that they hold the cable in place while cutting, unlike the straight jaw cutter I use not that sometimes pushed the wire out as it is cutting. The tool is not too heavy but is built well enough to last. The handles grips are durable red rubber and comfortable to hold. This tool in made in the USA! I am sure to get a lot of use out of this tool and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Great tool from a great brand. These cable cutters work great for cutting round material. They deform the shape way less than straight jawed cutters that tend to mash the material into an oval shape. These cut really well and are made in America. They are designed to cut copper and aluminum cable, but i like to use them for plastic tubing as well. Recommend to anyone.

A friend of mine who helps me out with so of my home remodeling projects had a pair of these cable cutting pliers and after seeing him use them for cutting the electrical wall cables and also some T V cables I asked him to try them out and I was amazed as to how easily and straight they cur through the several types of cable we were adding or removing, so the next trip to my favorite store HOME DEPOT I made sure that I now owned a pair..

These will come in pretty handy for average projects that I’ll be doing that have larger wires than the average #10/#12. The product description says it will cut 4/0 aluminum and 2/0 copper wire. It is a stretch to get the jaws open for anything 4/0. I tried cutting a bundle that had 3-#6 with a #8 ground wire and there was no way I could get enough leverage to cut them. The handles are not overly long, so it limits your ability to cut the longer wires, but does help if you have limited room to work with. Overall a good product. I would have given 5 stars, but for me, they fall a little short from the description of it’s abilities.

This Klein cable cutter is probably the highest quality tool of this type available. Grading an area exposed about 9 feet of NM cable. Cutting it off at ground level was effortless. It cut through so easily that I wasn’t sure I had cut it at all. I expect this Klein tool to remain in my workshop for many years as with other Klein tools, they are built to last. This tool has absolutely zero wobble which also means the jaws always align precisely. This high-leverage cable cutter will also strip 1/0 and 2/0 cableThis electrician’s tool is designed to cut many common sizes of NM cable of either copper or aluminum.

Love this cable cutter by Klein tools! Sidecut pliers and even wire strippers work great for 12 or 14 gauge wire but for much heavier cables you need something more and that is where these Klein high leverage cable cutters show their strength – literally. Now I know that using the right tool for the job saves both time and money, I have to admit when it comes to cutting 1/0 cables for sub-panels, I have struggled. Yea you get get through it with side cutters or even bolt cutters – but that just leaves you with a spayed mess that you have to work back in shape to get the wires into the lugs. Not with these Klein cable cutters – nice precise, clean cuts every time – and the wire is still round. The curved shape of the blades keeps the cable in place under the cutting edge – whereas with the straight edges on side cut pliers the cable tries to escape the more pressure you put on it. Even with 10-3 copper these are so much easier to use than side cut pliers. Very comfortable to hold and with no play between the cutting surfaces you have no binding and cable cutting is a breeze. Another excellent Klein tool!

Klein Tools have is a long time manufacturer of quality tools for the electrical trades and their High-Leverage Cable Cutter is another quality tool from them. My first cut with this cutter was on 14/2 romex cable. Needless to say, this cutter cut through the cable very easily. Next I tried cutting #2AWG THHN copper wire and was very satisfied on the ease of making the cut.

Klein makes another excellent made in the USA tool. This cable cutter can cut copper cable up to 2/0, aluminum cable up to 4/0 and 100-pair 24AWG communication cable. This tool is made of high quality forged steel with a hot riveted joint and beveled jaw tips. The handle is plastic dipped not glued, so it won’t fall off. This tool measures 9-1/2″ and weighs .90 lbs.Klien’s limited warranty covers defects in materials and craftsmanship for the normal life of the product.

It appears that cutting 1/16″ steel cable may have nicked the cutting sharpness.

This KLEIN TOOLS HIGH-LEVERAGE CABLE CUTTER is a a high quality product that is easy to use and has a comfortable grip. It makes the job go faster with much less hand fatigue, especially when doing large jobs that require a lot of cutting and stripping. This cable cutter has a good size and weight to it and the no slip handles are a plus. Klein tools never disappoint.
