This is a rather unique ratcheting wrench. For those who work in the refrigeration business, are likely familiar with this (and other) brands of square drive wrenches. By square drive, meaning a 4 sided screw head as opposed to a 6 sided hex or 12 sided star head.Square head screws have many other uses both in industrial and certain non commercial uses. For instance, my boat dock uses square head screws to secure the dock deck to the posts. In automotive or machine shops, some older lathes and other equipment use square heads.In the automotive business we called this a “flat” ratchet. What makes it unique is it accommodates 4 sizes instead of the typical 2. This is because one end can handle 3/8 & 5/16 square heads and the other end handles 1/4 & 3/16. This is achieved by simply turning the wrench over. This design also means the wrench is reversible by means of a thumb lever. Anyone familiar with a typical flat ratchet knows most don’t need to be reversible since they only accommodate 2 sizes and therefore simply flipping the wrench over automatically allows it to be in reverse. And as many mechanics also know, this isn’t always convenient and sometimes would prefer them to be reversible as this wrench is.The wrench is 5.5 inches in length and is of fine quality. It is a great addition to any tool box particularly if you come across square headed screws even occasionally.

I am a huge Klein Tools fan. I believe they make great quality hand tools at a great price that do not let me down. I understand this particular ratcheting wrench is designed for a specific purpose. However, it can obviously be used for a variety of other projects requiring a wrench of this size. The ratchet design makes life so much easier and faster.

This is a very specific tool for certain instances however it does come in handy. I needed to reset something on my fridge this year and I was able to finally reach with this wrench. I also needed to use this on another device. My guitar amp needed some help adjusting and I was able to do it with this wrench. I like that it doesn’t weigh very much and it’s easy to use.

I received my Klein 5.5 ratcheting refrigeration wrench. The wrench is a compact size and it is clearly marked with the four different sizes. The sizes are 3/16, 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8. It has a quick flip reversing lever So it’s easy to make it go in reverse. It’s designed for refrigeration packing plan that’s and Valve. stam sockets. The wrench is made with laminated construction for greater strength. Klein Tools seem to be very well made so it should last many years. It is also Chrome plated so it should resist rust. Anyone working on refrigeration units should be very happy with this tool.

The perfect tool for an HVAC application. Klein again does a great job with quality. This tool is a nice size and fits in my hand nicely. Even though its looks a little small, you definitely need that quality due to the tight spaces that it is needed for. There are 4 different sizes available to use in one wrench. So there is no need to be shuffling through a tool bag for the tool you need. Grab it and Go! Its light and easy to pack out. 5 stars all the way!

A specialty tool with a square drive most commonly used for refrigeration type valves and the securing bolt used in most beam clamps (see photo examples.) This tool has 4 different sizes available… two on one side and two more on the other side. A reversing clip is incorporated in each end since in this case, because of the differing sizes, flipping the wrench over to change direction simply won’t work. Technically it can be used with any bolt/screw that is one of the 4 sizes available but the truth is not very many applications utilize a square drive But when it does – this is what will be needed.

This is a fantastic wrench, I just love it. I love the idea of being a ratchet operated wrench that goes both ways. Having four different sizes in one wrench, means no more carrying around four separate wrenches to get the job done. This tool is very versatile, four different sizes all with ratcheting action. I know it say refrigeration wrench, but what I got it for was I have been doing some refinishing on mid century furniture, not uncommon to find nuts and bolts in some very tight areas. With this tool I will be able to reach them easier and being as flat and short as it is, will fit anywhere I need it to go. Easy smooth action, would recommend this for anyone needing to use a wrench in small spaces.
