Decent replacement grips, a little stiff and slick.

Have ordered these over the last 30 plus years (since 1981) as an electrician. Do they have a smell? Yes, but so do xcelite diagonal pliers and many electrical items. Part of the cool thing about being an electrician – you get to smell, touch interesting things like Chico compound and duct seal. Are they voltage rated – no, but neither are those thin blue plastic covers that start to crack after the third time you drop your line cutters off the ladder. Still made in the USA. Just follow the directions included – which are exactly the opposite of the way that you would think that you would apply the heated water. I usually heat the water up in the microwave just to the point where it is going to boil (tiny bubbles coming up from the bottom) and bump them on using a piece of wood or your wooden deck. Stop when they bottom out (hold up to the light). These handles give your tools that look and feel of seasoned professionally broken in investments – never having to worry about getting an errant shock. A quick file to both the cutting edge and the hinge side and they are ready to go for another decade (until one day – you just can’t locate them).
