The Klein Tools 30ft. Magnetic Double-Hook Tape Measure WOWYou can stop the tape from retracting and the more you squeeze the button, the slower the tape measure will retract, not like some that fly in on you. You have a fast retraction button, slow retraction feature, temporarily stop and hold function and lock button. On top you can lock the button in place to hold until you slide it back up, this gives you the ability to walk away and get other needed items to complete the job.Magnetic on both top and bottom end of the tape ,hooking ability and as you can see for the photo, it has the magnetic ability to hold a wall plate. The tape unit itself is so heavy that you can hook it on an object being measured and pull it along a table and just set it down and it will not retract. The best feature is the double sided numbering, down to 1/16 of an inch. An added bonus is Conduit Bending Table showing from 10 degrees to 45 degrease and the shrink factor to add back into the length. A 3-Phase Layout Guided 120V to 480V. The case is harden material made to last, a belt hook that works and it also is marked with a length of 3 3/4″ for those hard to get to places that you can be sure this is the correct length when you use the case length in as part of you measurement. Just WOW on this tape measure. This is and will be my go to tape measure in the future.

Hard to get out of package.I like the easy to read numbers. It has the numbers printed vertically on one side which is nice if you are measuring vertically.. I think the advertised 13′ standout is generous because of the sag but you can easily reach it out that far and if you can hook it on something pull it tight. The magnetic end was stronger than I expected and was useful to pick up a screw I dropped (not what it was designed for but it worked great.) I’m really impressed with the quality.

If you are looking for a better to best quality tape measure,Klein tools has a really good one. It has some cool features that you don’t necessarily find on other tape measures like a magnetic double hook that clings to metal pipes and steel studs etc. It is coated with nylon for longer life and smoother retraction and has a push button brake for speed control and locking. The tape measure itself has large whole numbers for inches and feet but it would’ve been nice to see quarter marks as well. For professionals it has a conduit bending multiplier on the reverse side and the ruler is vertical vs being horizontal which comes in handy for various types of measurement. It’s housed in a hard orange case with softer black rubber grips around it and is a bit heavier than other ones I’ve used, but the features outweigh the weight and it clips easily to any belt or similar. Overall it’s an excellent quality and very useful tape measure that anyone from homeowner to pro would use and appreciate.

Excellent tape measure. It’s very heavy duty and I expect it to last a long time!Pros:VERY solid tape to allow for holding when measuring from floor to ceiling. Doesn’t get floppy at all.Big letters / lines and easy to read even when not right on top of it. The measurements are also on both sides of the tape!Holds well when locked in place. Has a “temporary hold” button you can use when you only need to “lock” it for a second, instead of having to lock and then unlock.Spring is strong enough to pull tape back in even when measuring a long distance (i.e. you do not have to feed it by hand till it gets short enough). The 30′ length is handy, as I’ve already eliminated the need to “mark a spot and continue measuring from there.”Cons or Tips:Lock is pretty hard to push down, but might get easier over time. The spring is very strong, so you do have to be careful. These are both issues I’m sure I’ll get used to as I use it more. It’s on the heavy side if you were carrying it around all day.

The Klein double hook 30′ magnetic tape measure is a heavy duty and user friendly in that the numbers are on both sides and much larger making it easier to read. The double hook magnetic end attaches easily to steel studs and conduits. The hook can also attach easily to other non-metal surfaces for ease in measuring. There is an easy stop control and return control on the front of the tape measure. There is also a belt clip that can be easily used on a regular belt or work belt. I highly recommend this klein tape measure.

Klein Tools equals quality and innovation. This tape measure comes in a 30 foot length with large numbers printed on both sides. The reverse side also has a conduit bending multiplier and a 3-phase table printed on it. The nail grab and scribe are magnetic. Has a front side control to manage the speed of retraction as well as locking the tape in place. As well as the belt hook there is a push-and-hold button on the bottom for quick measuring.

This Thirty (30) foot Magnetic Double-Hook Tape Measure by Klein Tools has some great features that make it convenient to use. The double hook makes it easier to attach to a nail or hook when measuring vertically. It has the numbers on both sides of the tape, which makes it easy to read from multiple positions. I also like the wider tape, and bigger numbers. There is also a latch that holds the tape in place like many other tape measures. Some how the things that make it convenient are also the things that makes it hard for me to use. Such as the 30 feet of tape makes it very heavy, even though the body is a lighter plastic. I didn’t test to see how durable the plastic body is, but I have concerns, Will it hold up as long as a metal bodied tape measure? And although I really like the wider, easier to read, double sided tape, it make the tape measure very hard to hold in my smaller hand. So if you have a larger hand and don’t mind the extra weight, this can be a good option for you.

This tape measure is wide and has a deep curvature to it; I assume this is how you can get up to a 13 ft. standout (although I didn’t have great luck with this). The plastic coating on the tape itself should ensure no rusting and a long life. I have a bit of trouble “locking” the brake mechanism in place (see picture of slide button). The tape retracts smoothly and somewhat quietly as well.

Klein makes quality tools and this magnetic double hook tape measure is no exception. It has many features. It has a great lock, and the bottom stop slows down the tape when retracting and saves your fingers. The two sides are very easy to read. The magnetic clip is powerful. It has a high impact design of heavy plastic. It also has a lifetime warranty. Great choice.

I have two other tape measures in my toolbox, but the moment I opened this Klein Tools 30′ tape measure it immediately became my favorite. First off, the numbers are HUGE, making it so easy to read. And, the numbers are on both sides of the tape! The end of the tape has a double-hook allowing you to hook onto an object right-side up, upside down, or on its side! And, the tip is magnetic so you can put it up against a metal object and start pulling the tape away and it will stay in place. To top it off, it’s a full 30 feet long and has a very fast retraction feature, backed by two different buttons for stopping retraction. The button on the bottom is used to temporarily stop the tape from retracting and the more you squeeze the button, the more slowly the measure will retract. The locking button on the front side can be used to lock the tape measure in place. The tape unit itself is so heavy that you can hook it on an object being measured and pull it along a table and just set it down and it will not retract. Every single feature of this tape measures blows away my other two tape measures. And Klein also added some extra features such as a conduit bending multiplier table (helpful for electricians) on the bottom measure and a 3-phase table showing the color codes for electrical power wiring for 120/240V and 277/480V, showing A/B/C for Phases 1/2/3.Another nice feature on the front tape measure is the red blocking around the typical stud spaces (16″, 32″, etc.). Also, I love the dark black lines every 1/8th of an inch. It makes measure to the 1/16″ quite effortless. And then there is the superscript red inch numbering within each foot, so that you can easily measure, say, 24 inches and then add 5 more inches without having to do any math in your head. The metal tape measure has a nylon covering to protect the numbering and should make the tape measure last a long time. There is a metal belt clip on the side for clipping to your belt or tool belt. Note it is a little difficult getting the tape measure off of the packing mechanism. Tear open the package backing and push down hard on the black tab to unhook the tab from the hole in the belt clip.I expect to use this as my go-to tape measure for many years to come.

The tape broke at the two inch mark less than 5 weeks after l bought it, so l returned it. I like everything that’s on the back of the tape e.g. shrinkage, circuit colors and what not. Not sure if l will buy another one due to tape issue
