Powerful magnets that stick where others fail. Light is handy but after 3 drops from 20 plus feet the circuit board broke so not as durable as I’d like but was able to get it fixed with super glue and works again. Otherwise a 5 star product!

This torpedo level is a “must have” for anyone who does night work in limited light environments. For welders, pipe-fitters, plumbers, etc. it has an extremely durable construction and the 4 magnets have great power. The level tests out true in all positions, including the 45 degree vile. The light is good enough that the level can be read from roughly 10’ away at night, but doesn’t blind you when in close proximity doing “fine-tuning.” The light timer is a great option to enhance battery life. I like that it uses 2 AAA batteries instead of calculator batteries or non-common types. Overall, this is a very clean, very accurate, very valuable level for any application and definitely worth the price with the simple consideration of not having to juggle other tools and a flashlight at night if you are using it in a limited light environment.

The level has great magnets. The light feature comes in handy in poorly lit areas. I bought 2 and use them both daily at work. I just wish they were actually manufactured in the USA

Such a clever, versatile torpedo level! There are so many small details that I appreciate about the thoughtful design of this level. Klein specializes in quality and intelligent design. First, it’s a unique color that stands out among my tools. Next, one edge is angled at a 45 bevel so you can line up and confirm a 45 degree is correct. If you’re bending pipe in the field this could be very helpful. I even used it when I was bracing a fence gate. The braces needed to be 45 degrees. Set the level in the corner and adjust the brace until the level aligned. Fast and easy! The level is magnetic. I used it on black steel piping and a cast-iron drain stack and the v-groove designed into the base plate is a key feature that allows the level to stay in place and balanced on a rounded surface. Another nice feature is that the vials light up by pressing a small button. Super handy in a dark area. The LED lights require 2 AAA batteries. After 3 minutes the lights shut off. Large viewing ports make it super easy to read from any angle. Overall, a must have tool for any pipe fitter or DIYer.

This LED lighted torpedo level is great to use in all lighting situations as the LED lights make it very easy to see the bubble level. Like always Klein tools doesn’t disappoint in product quality. The only problem is that this level is a little bit taller in height then my other Klein torpedo level, which doesn’t fit into my Klein bag pouch. Other then that it is an excellent torpedo level and the magnet is as strong or stronger then my other Klein torpedo level.

I am a contractor and it is nice to have a level that has an integral light when you have poor ambient light to verify that your work is plum and level!!Highly recommend this tool to all those that take pride in their work and appreciate quality tools

Heavy-duty, well-constructed item, as you’d expect from Klein. LED illuminated vials are quite bright, making it great for the dark areas that I am often needing a level in. The 4 integral rare-earth magnets are very powerful, and there’s no way this level is unintentionally moving on a metal surface. The opposite surface features a v-groove, for when using on pipe or conduit. The unit is powered by 2 AAA batteries, and the LED’s auto shut off after 3 minutes, to conserve battery life.A couple of things to note: this level is a good bit heavier than your standard 9″ torpedo – probably something around a pound – so something to consider if it’s going to be riding in your tool pouch all day. Also, for you Union tradesmen who are only to carry US-made tools, this particular Klein tool is made in China.

Over the years I have gone through a lot torpedo levels. The problem with many was their accuracy was close but not dead-on accurate. When tested for accuracy, all three vials on this level from Klein Tools are right on the numbers. The body is nicely machined and fits comfortably in my back pocket or tool pouch and with a touch of a button all three vials are back-lit for greater visibility in basements or other dark areas.

This was a Christmas gift for our electrician son. He uses levels constantly in his work on commercial projects & was always trying to balance a flashlight along with a level. He reported loving it.

I own a large number of levels from various manufacturers and I’m also a big fan of Klein tools in general so my expectations were high for this product. Ultimately I was left a bit disappointed because the level, while accurate, was clunky and didn’t match the level of fit and finish I expect from other Klein tools.Let me say right off the bat that this level is an odd size. Where many torpedo levels are quite compact and slide easily into tight spaces this one feels a big oversized and “chunky” for lack of a better term. I don’t think I’ve had a level quite like this before and I’d recommend you see it in person before plunking down the cash.I tested the level for accuracy and found it read true and consistently across several measurements. The lights are a nice feature for dark locations and the LEDs are quite bright. What’s lacking is that the cover for the battery as well as the caps where the spirit levels were inserted through the body appear to be a cheap plastic and rubber material, respectively. The fit is fairly rough and it certainly doesn’t feel like a premium tool.I’m struggling to come up with a reason to recommend this over more reasonably priced and more compact torpedo levels from competitors but I’m coming up short.

To be honest, I had no idea what a “billet level” is when I ordered this item. What grabbed my attention was the fact that the vials are lighted. At my age, I often have a hard time reading the bubbles on my old levels, so lighted vials seemed like just the ticket. Upon reading up about this little 8-inch beauty, I realized it’s intended purpose as a conduit bending aid. Having recently tried my hand at bending some EMT conduit (after watching lots of uTube “How to” videos), I can really appreciate how useful a lighted billet level can be. This model (935RBLT) exchanges the seldom-used 30-degree vial of the earlier model 935RB for the LED lighted vials feature. Two screws on the back of the level allow easy access to the battery compartment for replacement of the two AAA batteries that power the LED’s. The rare earth magnets securely hold the level to metal conduit or any flat metallic surface. The precision machined V-groove fits the curved surface of conduit. Unfortunately, there are no magnets on the V-groove side to hold it to the conduit. Unless I have misunderstood how this is intended to be used, it seems like a couple of magnets in the V-groove would make this more useful.Weighing in at about two pounds, it feels very solid and well-made. Machined windows in the top of the level allow easy viewing of the 45 and 0 degree vials from the top of the level. Klein Tools has a reputation of providing high-quality tools and this lighted billet torpedo level is no exception.

If you need a very heavy duty, rugged, durable level, this is a great choice. And if you ever have to work in situations with less than great lighting, the lights on this level are a great feature. The level is 9″ long, but is slightly thicker than a typical plastic torpedo level. And because it is a solid block of aluminum, it’s fairly heavy for its size and feels incredibly solid. The vials are easy to read, and if you turn on the lights, they glow very brightly. The lights are a great feature for a torpedo level, for both darker environments and us well-aged individuals who might occasionally need reading glasses. The magnets on one edge are very strong–when attached to steel, it will definitely not fall off or be easily bumped off. The textured / ridged surface of the magnetic edge is fairly rough, so you will need to be careful on any painted or finished surfaces, particularly if the magnets are used, to avoid scratching the surface. The ‘front’ side of the level has a small rubber power button to turn the lights on and off, and the back side has a plastic cover for the two AAA batteries, which has two screws, in addition to a plastic clip, to keep the cover in place. The bright orange color is very distinct, making it very visible.Very impressive level that really stands out from other torpedo levels.

This is one great torpedo level ! I have had a few torpedo levels in the past usually just cheap plastic ones. But they seemed to work fine. But after getting this one wow I really noticed the difference in quality. The weight alone is almost 1 pound all metal. The rare earth magnets are super strong. I’ve always seen lighted levels and wondered why you would need a light on a level. But when I saw this one , it is incredible. You can see the bubbles so clearly.

This level solves the problems that we had with our old Stanley level, which was nice, but too long and did not light up. This Rare Earth is very solid, well made, and accurate. It is shorter, and fits into spaces that were too small for our old level. Since it lights up, it works in a dark area, or near sundown when we are trying to finish something. Batteries are included, and installed, ready to go. Remember that it is magnetic. This first time we used it on the corner of a wall, it grabbed the wall, which was fine but surprising. Love this very capable level.
