I love this tape measure. I was educated with the metric system and I am too old (read lazy) to learn how many inches and ounces fit into a meter. Meanwhile, my wife can only think in standard. We have also a whole set of tape measures in metric and imperial and have to double measure everything. It can get complicated. In effect, it means the bookshelves that we built ourselves are, well, with a few gaps and this situation sparks some interesting conversations. So, since getting this tape measure, we have been working together much faster on many house projects. It is super solid (already fell from the top of the ladder) and well designed (love the double hook.) It feels good and we might get a few as a result. I really good product.

The Klein Tools 7.5 m Magnetic Double-Hook Tape Measure has a very solid feel, which I strongly prefer to lightweight plastic versions. Its magnetic tip has been particularly handy. A recent measurement from my garage door allowed me to attach the tape, otherwise unsupported, to one steel railing, while my hands were free to extend the tape a relatively long distance, while the magnetic tip clung reliably to the rail. I really liked this because it allowed me to take a measurement that would otherwise have needed a second person. I also liked the standout feature and wide hook which allowed me to extend the tape, unsupported by other hands, approximately thirteen feet – very handy when I was working alone, measuring long lengths of wall for chair rail moulding. The tape is marked in both metric and inch measures, and also shows a relative distance in inches from the nearest foot, so for example, 27 inches is marked as both 27 inches and 2 foot 3 inches. Again, potentially helpful. Overall, this is a well-made tool.

One tool that always comes in handy is a tape measuring tool. The feature I like about this tape is that unlike other tapes this one has a double hook; one at top and one at the bottom. This gives you a flexibility to hook this end to either location. I also like the locking feature and the braking feature. A metal blade when rewinding back can cause severe injury but by using the brake you can control the rewinding speed. The markings on this 25 foot long tape are also big for easy reading. One thing that I did not like has to do with the packaging. There is no instruction for removing this tape from the package and I had a hard time removing it so I called the company. Apparently, you have to remove the paper from the back side and then cut the piece of plastic (see the picture) that runs from left to right. This will then allow you to lift the metal clip to unlock it for removing it from the package. The company needs to add instructions as many will get frustrated like I did. Otherwise it is a great product.

I like to keep tape measurers in various locations around the house so they’re easy to get to when I’m working on something. I have a variety of other tape measurers but this was my first Klein Tools tape measure. This tape is 7.5 meters which is approximately 25 feet. When I removed the tape from the packaging, I was impressed with how substantial it feels. The packaging says it can handle a four meter standout (approximately 13 feet) so I quickly tested out that claim. The tape actually did make it 13 feet before falling to the ground so I was happy with that. The tape has metric and U.S. Measurements. The metric measurements measure down to millimeters and the U.S. Measurements are to the 1/32 of an inch for the first foot and then 1/16 of an inch after that. The measurements are printed on the top and bottom of the tape so you can check your measurements from either side. The hook at the end of the tape is magnetic which is a nice feature when working on things such as metal conduit and other metal items. The hook is also double sided so you can hook to the top or bottom of the tape. The tape has a solid lock on the front of the case. It also has a button on the bottom of the case that allows you to slow down the retraction when you release the lock or hold the tape temporarily in place if you don’t want to lock it. There is also a sturdy clip on the side to attach it to your pocket or tool belt. I’m impressed with the quality of this tape measure and would definitely recommend it.

This is a great tape. It’s a little on the large/bulky side, but it will definitely take a fall or three. There are some things that make this tape stand out from the dozens of others I own. I really like the pocket clip. It’s long and wide. It fits deep into pockets so if you are more comfortable sticking it in your back pocket then through your belt, it stays put. I also like the retraction brake. The magnetic hook is both rally handy and sometimes annoying as it will grab stray nails/screws. CM and Inches is really handy to have on one tape (both sides)

This is a 25′ tape measure that has a belt loop hook. The housing is built tough with rubber overmolding and bright orange plastic housing. This is a high-quality tape with thick metal strip that stays straight over long lengths that has large numbers (metric and imperial/inches/feet) along with a magnetic point on the end for sticking to metal studs and other items for easy measuring. (see photo with metal loop on end to show where the magnet is.)It is not a 7.5′ tape (as I initially thought), much larger, heavy duty.

The tape brake lock is pretty stiff – It’s not a one handed operation to release it. The tape stand out is pretty impressive. I appreciate the dual SI/Imperial measurement featured on both sides of the tape.

So, this is a beast of a “spool of inches”! Very heavy, solid, and durable feeling, and it operates very smoothly. It has both inches and millimeters/centimeters/meters on both the top and bottom of the tape which is very handy. The “standout” is outstanding! Even though the claim of a 4 meter standout fell short by 20cm in my highly unscientific test. Still, a 12′ 5 1/2″ standout is very useful. I can’t count how many times I have been up on a ladder in the middle of a room and needed to reach out in both directions to mark the middle of the room on the bottom stringer of a truss. Really like this tape measure. It is heavy, though. I weighed it (see photo) and is comes in at a hefty 1 lb 5.3 ounces. Having the centimeters comes in very handy helping my kids with their homework (and makes it easy to also include the proper standard measurement in an aside note to the teacher reminding them that that is the correct unit of measurement in the USA!)

My new favorite tape measure! This is the heavy weight champion of tape measures! Extremely solid, durable tape. Really does stick out as far as they say without collapsing (see the video!). Comes with a very strong magnet (held a pint paint can with paint!) and a double sided hook. Both sides of the tape show inches and centimeters. One side is in horizontal / landscape orientation, the other is in elevation / portrait orientation. Has these features:metal belt clipblade brake (on bottom)blade lock (on front)lanyard hole

IF I did a little house cleaning out in my shop, I’d bet I could find 10-15 measuring tapes. But, let me tell you this, I’ve never had a REAL PROFESSIONAL type tape!!! This thing is simply amazing. The blade measures 1 1/4 inch wide and has a powerful magnet on the end as well as two hooks. I’ve never even heard of a tape measure with inchs AND cm both on the front and back of the tape, yellow on one side, white on the reverse. Klein added this little button to the underside to help lock it down without the regular hard lock on all tapes, so cool! I took these pictures with proof of the 14 foot stand out in my hallway.

Klein does it again, as usual. The magnet held my pair of J20009NECRFTP Linemens Pliers as if they were not there. I read a where one customer even picked up a sealed one pint can of paint by the lid.

Great Tape Measure! Easy to read and has measurements on both sides of the tape. Holds in place two ways either by a button on the bottom of the tape measure or by the tape measure lock, located in the front of the tape measure itself. It even has the measurements vertical or horizontally printed depending on which side of the tape measure you are looking at. Hooks at the end allow to lock on edges either side of it.
