Klein Tools 93LCLS Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser Level with Plumb Spot – In my opinion this is a Laser Level Kit, it contains the Laser Level, Auxiliary Ceiling and Beam Flange Mounting Bracket and Hard Case…This Laser Level has an accurate working distance up to 65 feet in all directions…This Laser Level is quite easy to operate and requires very little setup…Step (1) move the pendulum lock / unlock switch to the unlock position, (2) select the Laser Level lines required for the task…This Laser Level has three (3) Red Laser Beams, Vertical, Horizontal and Plumb, that will operate independently or simultaneously…After the leveling task completed turn off the Laser Level lines and move the pendulum lock / unlock switch to the lock position, that is all that is required to operate this Laser Level…If this Laser Level is bumped out of level or attempted to be operated at greater than 4 degrees out of level, the Laser Lines will flash and the Excessive Tilt Indicator will blink…Simply move the Laser Level to be less than 4 degrees out of level and the Laser Level will again self-level…I tested this Laser Level projecting a horizontal line installing EMT conduit through steel studs as well as setting the height of device wall boxes on steel studs…This Laser Level was very easy to set up for both applications…The Laser Level performed as indicated, intended and expected without any problems…

The features that stand out to me most is the plum line or spot combined with the ability to have all three modes working simultaneously. Also, a big one for me is the fact that I own a Rigid Tristand that supports my two flood lights and fan…and supports my Laser level also. The tristand supports up to three tools and scopes in all directions and telescopes up to 8 feet. One thing that I didn’t like was the difficulty I had in turning it on when I received it in the mail. In fact, I took it to Home Depot to return it, and when I was in the return line figured out how to turn it on. I have had it about three weeks now.

I use this plumb spot laser level for electrical rough in and trim out. It’s ready to use right out of the box. I love the fact that it comes in a hard carry case. The only down side, in my opinion, would be that it isn’t rechargeable. I’m not a fan of having to keep buying batteries but I think I can manage with this item. If it were a rechargeable laser then I would give it a five star rating.

Works great inside but nearly useless outside… should have bought one with a green laser.

Really great level. Only draw back is the magnet could be a little stronger.

The best level for electricians, I just wish it had a charger instead of batteries, but as they say nothing is perfect .

Klein did a really good job with this level at every level and in every respect, and obviously a lot of designing hours were spent on this tool, from materials and manufacturing to degrading quality due to exposure to work environment, hits, bangs, drops and so on. The swiveling parts are so sturdy, that you can play baseball with it. The glass windows are 2.5mm thick. Who does that, Klein wanted it to be usable after WW3, zombie apocalypse and an all out nuke war? The laser is bright and crisp up to 30 feet and then it just gets wider than the thickness of a chalk reel string. This is an absolutely necessary tool driven by absolute necessity when you can’t use any other level, meaning that you need both the sides and ceiling point. This tool has it all, plus the magnets to use when you want to level a metallic surface, a door frame, a flag pole, etc. I liked the lock feature of the internal mirror because this is the one that gives way on other levels due to vibrations and movements from carrying it around, this is just great design. The base for tripod or extendable base for floor leveling measurement is just great and very functional. I think that it should come standard with this tool, making measurement of coarse surface floors (e.g. concrete slabs) more precise. Power consumption is minimal, I accidentally left it overnight and the three 1.5v batteries held up till the morning. I liked best the carrying case, it is very sturdy and very suitable for the back of a contractor’s van getting pummeled between other tools and materials. This is a class job well done by Klein, as always.

Klein Tools was started in the 1857 & is still American owned & operated by the same family. I got my first Klein tool when I started as a lineman in the early 60s, & I still have those pliers. The Home Depot website has a lot of information on the controls of the laser. I had never used a laser, but I my son, who is a G.C. has a smaller one, he had no problem using it to check a metal stud wall on a remodel. He used it on a dropped ceiling in a converted retail space. So far has had no problem attaching the unit where he wants it. Great carrying case to go into the tool bins on the truck.
